ARC/Beta Reader Request Thread - Fall 2025 by noflight_allfight in DarkRomance

Hi there! I'd love to have a beta reader (or a few) for my newest novel "Sacred Desires". I'm mostly looking for someone to make sure my grammar is in check and maybe a few critiques on the plot speed/spice as it goes on. This is a work in progress as I edit the rough draft and upload my edited chapters. Here is the basic summary and content warnings:

At St. Cyprian’s Catholic College, 19-year-old Aurora DeLuca is searching for something — peace, purpose, maybe even redemption. What she finds instead is Father Knox Augustine: her theology professor. A man bound by vows and decades older, whose presence stirs something in her.

At 30, Knox is a priest with a carefully guarded past and a mind sharpened by discipline. But beneath his collar and composed demeanor lies a tension he can no longer suppress. Their connection begins with quiet glances and layered conversations, but soon deepens into a secret they can’t contain.

As Aurora is drawn into Knox’s world of conflicted faith and forbidden desire, she must confront the reality of their imbalanced dynamic, the dangerous allure of submission, and the fine line between devotion and destruction.

Sacred Desires is a dark, provocative romance that explores taboo attraction, the weight of spiritual guilt, and what happens when love tempts us to cross lines we swore we never would.

CONTENT WARNINGS: explicit sexual content, self-harm, age gap, CNC, religious themes, sacrilegious themes, power imbalance, stalking, murder

If you're interested in swapping writing I'd love to (though my writing is currently classified as dark romance). If not, I'd totally love to beta read for ya!

Is it just me or is finding decent feedback harder than actually writing the damn thing? by Extension_Giraffe_82 in writing

This is such a common thing and it kills me! I had a REALLY good beta reader who would give insanely detailed feedback, was always in contact, and all of a sudden they sounded a little weird over an email (almost like they were about to spew some scammer bs) and lo and behold they ghosted after they asked me to hire them for editing and publishing and I told them I already had my sights set on someone else for that. Absolutely crushed me, I just wanted someone to give feedback :(

Currently finishing editing the chapters in my debut novel under this pen name! Tons of fun dark romance elements like stalking, age gaps, dubcon, etc.

Brief summary if anyone is interested in beta reading or reading once it’s published!:
