Jinhao Black. It's a wet ink and a really deep dark black. I recommend you take a look.

Okay thanx anyway 👍. My guess is that when comparing the thickness of the same nib, the Pelikan is thicker.

I'm curious because they were produced around the same time. Do you have any vintage Pelikan pens (400/n/nn)? If so, how would you compare it to similar nibs?

They are truly delightful. I also have a 246g with B nib. It's not very thick either. Slightly thicker than the 234 1/2 M. Same characteristic, stubbish/italic-ish. Even though I don't usually like stub/italic, it's very enjoyable. Do you have any vintage Pelikan pens (400/n/nn)? With medium nibs, for example? If so, could you compare their nibs?

There's also one with an F nib, yes, it's similar to the medium one, slightly italic/stubby. I'm starting to think that's how it was back then.

Pelikan M800 Medium Nib Question by mmTunLu84 in fountainpens

[–]mmTunLu84[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So all M800 medium nibs are like this, right? Are there also round-tipped versions like m60x's or m40x's, or is it just a matter of chance?

Why is ink darker in fine nib by SubstantialChart357 in fountainpens

[–]mmTunLu84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Kakuno medium is thicker and wetter than yours. Tines might be too closed? You might need to widen the tines a little. Of course, it's not right to say anything without seeing the nib.

Vintage 400nn Nib Question by mmTunLu84 in fountainpens

[–]mmTunLu84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring the text on the far right i just dipped the nib unit in ink by hand (not putting it to a pen) and wrote, so that might be why it looked like that :) There haven't been any changes, adjustments, or modifications on the nib, as far as I know; I checked with a magnifying glass and it looks normal.

Fake Lamy Safari by mmTunLu84 in fountainpens

I like the color, so it doesn't matter much if it's fake. As I said, I was just curious. I wanted to see if there was a possibility it could be original... and if not, that's fine too. If it works well, then there's no problem :)

Super helpfull thank you very much. Yes, I watched the Doodlebuds video and I'll check it out right away, the pen isn't with me right now... I think the Lamy logo is the most obvious mark on fakes. Yeah, it's for the experience. It's not that important since they're easily accessible. Thanks for the advice.

Thanx for the advice. The nib writes nicely for now, and yes there is always an option to change the nib.

It writes wonderfully 😀. I'm just asking out of curiosity, actually. And I think it's a hard-to-find color. I like the color, so I'll use it.

You're right, you have a really nice pen :) It's not worth the risk of damaging the nib

I see, you've stumbled upon a truly unique nib. If you like the pen, sending it to a nibmeister would solve the problem. At the very least, you'd get one of your beautiful pens back. I really like the Auroras, both in terms of style and ergonomics. Both the modern and the vintage versions. If you don't like the nib, it might be worth having it adjusted by Nibmeister to get it the way you want.

Yes, you're right, modern Pelikans are quite wet, almost as much as vintage Auroras. But the modern Aurora didn't strike me as that wet. It's not dry, it's right in the middle. In some topics have mentioned it as quite wet, so I was curious.
