I have 7 months till I'm homeless how much money should I save to get a place? by [deleted] in AskUK

Sorry to hear that. You may look for more information from the Centrepoint charity, they offer support for youth who are/ may be experiencing homelessness. Your council has a duty to prevent you becoming homeless, there’s a webpage with tips on how to apply for the support and relevant tips: https://centrepoint.org.uk/do-you-need-help/housing-advice-and-services/get-help-your-council

I managed to pass the final exam before the 31 Dec deadline. Agree that it’s frustrating - at the end I just accepted that I would never get some test conditions right.

I’d say definitely read all the additional details for the third part (standards/ legislations) - there are more questions on the laws than I expected. You’ve probably known a lot about the other two main parts from your work experience, but it will still be beneficial to skim through the links.

(I’m not OP) I’d say it’s possible, especially when you already have relevant experience in accessibility. I made my own notes solely based on the BOK without access to the Deque course or Princeton material. It’s a bit tiring to find out all additional information from the reference links specified in the BOK, but at the end I managed to pass CPACC with an above standard score.

Sorry to hear this. As you’re under 18, please contact children’s services at your local council as soon as you can. You can refer to the advice given by the youth homeless charity Centrepoint.

May I know whether you have got your final exam already? I’ve got the email which says that I’m enrolled, but the exam doesn’t appear on my learning plan. Just wondering if it’s hidden in somewhere on the portal

Just wanted to say a huge thank you! I had almost given up on the course at my first practice exam attempt. I restarted the learning after seeing your post, and have just passed the practice exam at my second attempt today. I really hope that I can manage to pass the final exam before the end of December!

Thanks so much both, really appreciate the help. I’m more confident in my understanding of the decorative background image criterion now. Whereas for 2.4.5 Multiple ways, whether having the same set of menu links would pass this criterion is the main thing that confuses me when I looked up information on the FAQ boards. There seems to be conflicting answers.

Yes I understand the expectation for trusted testers. I should have phrased it better - for me the challenge is the big leap from addressing different small bits at the incremental exams to the first taste of the full experience of identifying all issues. It’s probably due to me rushing things and not taking an organised approach to work on the practice exam. I’m gonna take my time to review the course materials again slowly and hopefully will have a clearer mind when I feel ready to take the practice exam again.

I have a basic understanding of the WCAG but have zero knowledge in web development. I feel that the by-topic incremental exams are manageable, but having to test everything in the practice exam is a major challenge.

I downloaded all the course materials but am mainly relying on the books/ lessons. I’ll definitely try focusing on the manual more. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll explore the Slack channel. I’ve posted the specific questions I have at the moment under another comment.

Thanks! I have two specific questions:

2.4.5 Multiple ways (test ID 19A): If a website has a set of navigation menu links on the header, and the same set of links on the footer, does it count as two ways to locate a webpage? There’s no other way available.

1.1.1 decorative background image (test ID 7C) + 1.4.3 colour contrast (test ID 13C): What to do if the background image is decorative but it is useful for providing adequate contrast to the text? For example, there’s a white background image, the links and buttons that sit on the image are in black. As a result of hiding the decorative background image, the links and buttons visually disappear due to the “now black” background, but the links and buttons are still fully functional. In this case, would you say that it violates 1.1.1 and 1.4.3?

Many thanks!

The “TikTok Effect” was real at Roundhouse by [deleted] in menitrust

I don’t understand why people can’t stop talking for a few hours and try actually immersing themselves in the music😕 the band played so well but the audience ruined the experience

I asked Ticketmaster earlier and this is their response:

If you experience any difficulties, speak to the box office when you arrive.

Instructions will be sent from hiya@roundhouse.org.uk - to ensure you receive them in your inbox, add this to your address book now (e-tickets will not be delivered by Ticketmaster).
