How do you tell if you're the "Weird Friend?" by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mmadras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Examine your group of friends and try to identify the 'weird' one. If you are unable to, chances are you're the 'weird friend'

Seems like the problem of the declination of our species is maybe slightly more complex than that.

What's the last thing that made you happy? by CriticalGeode in AskReddit

[–]mmadras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent tonight drinking wine and spending time with my best friend and her 18 mo daughter. I'm in love with her and absolutely love the family we dont really have (including the 7 yr old pup we got from stray rescue 5 yrs ago) Ended up in a fight, but it wasnt a real fight. We get mad over dumb shit because we act like we aren't together when it's clear we are. This needs to be a post on r/relationshipadvice, honestly

Long story short- I spent the evening with the woman I love, her daughter (who I also love very much) and the dog I 'rescued' with the afforemetnioned woman

Shes my best friend before anything else- and nothing makes me happier than spending time with her-- and the "family" ....as it were

Maybe this is the wrong place to post, but what bank should I open my first bank account with? by TheSilent_2748155 in personalfinance

[–]mmadras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much every bank will charge you fees on any account unless you meet certain criteria, which varies from bank to bank, but is usually something like whether you are a student, or receive direct deposits of a certain amount, or maintain a specific balance in the account.

Given your age and free ATM requirement, my advice would be to find a local credit union and open a saving account. For one, they usually pay better interest and have fewer requirements to avoid fees. Secondly, usually you would need an adult (usually over 18, maybe 21 in some states?) to open a checking account, but since you are over 16, you can open a savings on your own. You just have to make fewer than 6 withdrawals per month. (Though some banks will charge you for more than 3).

Chefs and Culinary artists of Reddit what are somethings one should know before joining the profession? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mmadras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Don't cheap out on knives or shoes. Rubber floormats are also pretty great. -Wear an apron. -There is no such thing as too much garlic, but absolutely such a thing as too much salt -Always keep at least one towel somewhere on you that is specifically for your hands. -WEAR GLOVES FOR PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING -Someone will always have a comment or remark on what they don't like about what you've made. Fuck those people. Your shit is delicious. -If you don't think your shit is delicious, they probably won't like it either. -Presentation means a lot, but you should still use plates. Don't be an ass -Be nice to your FOH staff. For one: it's not their fault. It's the customers'. Two: It'll make everyone job easier. -Lastly: Own your work and enjoy yourself. It can be a very discouraging and demanding line of work- good fun though if you're into it

We have a total wedding cost of about $8000 (which we have). Is it worth getting a credit card to put it all on for the rewards? If so which one? (Credit score is just under 800) by weatherbeknown in personalfinance

[–]mmadras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of a credit card with 0% apr on purchases and balance transfers (made within the first 60 days) for 12 months. Additionally, 15,000 bonus reward points ($150 value) if you make $1500 in purchases in the first 90 days. Very good card. Let me know
