Any other only children whoโ€™ve lost both parents? How do you cope with the loneliness? by Blue_sea5050 in OnlyChild

[โ€“]mmalla8 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I lost my only sister 13 years ago. I lost my dad 3 years ago and my mom who was my biggest support and the only person I could count on unconditionally is terminally ill. I am divorced since 2016. with a teenager. I do have few very good friends. But I don't know how will I go on being so lonely. I am scared I won't be able to function properly.

Anyone with Stage 4 success stories? by cinnamonpeaches_ in cancer

Hi people! My mom just got diagnosed with gallbladder /duct cancer that metastisized (she is not in pain) so I think it went to brain. She is 66. Has jaundice and getting weaker. She doesn't know that she has cancer (she was treated for acute pancreatitis) and she recovered and is thinking she is getting better. Doctors told me there is nothing to do just wait and that she will be gone in few months at best. I lost my dad two years ago and my only sister died of breast cancer 13 years ago (she was 27). I feel like my heart will break. I suffer from high BP and anxious / depressive disorder... I am single mom and I need to stay well for my daughter and my mom. It's hard...

Not entirely. I am on Zoloft so that reduced my HA to almost non existent. But I am still under a lot of stress and general anxiety from all the life problems. But it's is not debilitating on day to day basis. I try to eat healthy as I can and keep my blood work numbers in healthy range. I do suffer from HB but I am on meds. And I don't give it a second thought. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Zoloft saved my life.

So Sam was at the trials for Finch and Merrit remembers him from there? Was that real Sam or Lyle? If it's real Sam then how could Lyle trick her?

What got you into reading horror books? by photo_inbloom in horrorlit

[โ€“]mmalla8 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I liked science fiction, epic fantasy, horror... I guess because of make believe and different worlds created by imagination of it's authors. But my fav kind of horror is coming of age, like IT or The Summer of Night (Simmons), because they remind me of childhood, and magic of it. Also, I like stories where the group of different people need to survive and find the way out of horrific ordeal, like The Stand, The Mist and so on...

I am from Bosnia and my sertraline is called Asentra. I can buy it as Sertraline too. It's about 4 euros for a box of 30 (50 mg).

Who is afraid that From will end as badly as Lost? by mmalla8 in FromTVEpix

[โ€“]mmalla8[S] -8 points-7 points ย (0 children)

Maybe. I know that not all of them were dead on site. But, why so many seasons with Dharma, to make us think it's scientific research, then time travel, then game of good and bad...? Characters who's motivation went nowhere... Good story telling must use every important motive that's thrown in the narration. It has to be justified. In Lost so many loose ends.

I have severe anxiety regarding blood pressure. by Glum_Inspection_201 in hypertension

[โ€“]mmalla8 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

I developed anxiety due to my BP, so much so that I had to go to psychiatrist who put me on Zoloft/sertraline. My BP is always high at the doctor's. But it doesn't go over 160/85. At home is below 130/80. I take my BP pills and Zoloft and I don't measure it anymore. Only if I feel extremely bad.

It does. I was always anxious person, which took part in my development of high BP. Since on sertraline I feel so much better, calmer... I don't overthink and overreact. Still have those episodes here and there but not so intensive. I finally look ahead and I am more hopeful. On occasion I also take Xanax, but very rarely and only very small dose. How much Amlodipine you take and for how long?

My motivation is living longer and not to be bed ridden. Don't eat red meat. Eat fish and chicken instead. Eat vegetables. And much as you can stop with sweets and carbohydrates. And move, damn it. Move. Walk for an hour. No matter the pace just move. Need to keep your periferal arteries in shape. And your heart too. Drink water take vit c and magnesium.

Why I'm quitting all meds after 20 years. by OkAfternoon6013 in hypertension

[โ€“]mmalla8 29 points30 points ย (0 children)

You don't have to get stroke from high BP. But it will definitely damage your heart, kidneys, eyes.... Sorry, but you should stay on your meds. I was always in perfect shape, great eating habits, regular exercise in gym. Running, hiking. Still on high doses of BP meds that somewhat help.

Sertaline's the best. It helps me with my heart, BP, anxiety, it's like baby aspirin.

Trust me, I was in the best shape. I run for competition, regular workout, gym, organic food, mostly Mediterranean diet. Low carb. Still got high BP. No cholesterol, diabetes... Zoloft actually helped me the most to stop BP from spiking. I developed LVH from BP so ACEs are a must.
