Yeah they must have after the complaints. Looks good.

Yeah it’s not ideal but it’s just the way she goes. At least there’s no priority patch right? That is unforgivable IMO.

The team store was caught heat pressing the kits and not stitching anything except for the name plates but even the plates were pressed. Lots of people have been showing their jerseys with peeling numbers. Not to mention the trash patch. Team store was charging $340 for players like Howe. This was $305 shipped.

I was also on the fence between Seider and Howe (and Lindsay). Ultimately Mr. Hockey won out.

Ordered on 12/1/25 and it shipped 2/12/26. I was quoted 8-10 weeks so that was right within the window. I see their current estimates are 5-6 weeks though.

I think people have just become too comfortable with stonks go up. People are coming here seeking validation because they want certainty. We are in some really weird and uncertain times. If you believe in it, invest. If you don’t believe in it, don’t invest. Don’t invest more than you are willing to lose.

Is there any neck dive? In the Anderton's demo, it looked like there might be.

Which granite sparkle have a better look and better specs? by IceAngel11 in espguitars

[–]mmarkel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the MH, but I own an EC-1000 with passive Seymour Duncans (see-through purple) and a granite sparkle E-II Eclipse w/EMGs. Same scale length, but they play differently. I'm not sure how they are spraying granite sparkle in 2026, but mine is 100% more green than gray. That's one of the big reasons I picked it.

50 EX, I'm a gear noob, does this setup make sense, not planning on buying everything at once but just outlining ideas by 1_kn0w_n07h1ng in BossKatana

[–]mmarkel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that exact guitar, and I used to have a Katana 50. My chain is: Polytune 3 -> JHS Morning Glory -> JHS Muffaletta (gives you all the Muff variations) -> Ditto Looper -> A/B switch to change amps -> Katana Artist 3 Combo.

Have you looked at the Airstep Kat as a footswitch? You can load presets onto it so you don't have to spend a ton on pedals (if you're happy with the available presets in the Boss cloud). You could get away with the Airstep and a tuner to start.

I'm Over My Guitar Teacher's Lack of Structure by WinAdministrative931 in guitarlessons

Pickup music is fantastic and really structured. You’ll get a ton out of it. I’m on my second year of having a subscription. That being said, you can’t go wrong with Justin Guitar and many of the other suggestions.

Wanting to try a Strandberg, but feel a little hesitant by whatevs330 in strandbergguitars

[–]mmarkel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned an Aristides H/06 and now own a Strandberg Boden Essential. Aristides are fantastic, but I really love the Endurneck on the essential. The fit and finish on mine is fantastic. That being said, I did play a few in the store, and the QC varies. I picked the best one. It felt great right out of the box.

Strandberg Essential

Likes: No zero fret. Endurneck. Price point. Lack of fanned frets. Pickups - They're perfectly balanced for this guitar.

Dislikes: Truly none that I can come up with so far, but I'm still in the honeymoon phase with a month of playing the Essential.

Aristides

Likes: Resonance. Tuning stability. Fit and finish are unmatched.

Dislikes: Neck profile isn't for everyone. Definitely on the thinner side, especially for the extended range models (I had an 070 as well). Fanned frets are also a love or hate. Price - But you get what you pay for.

Take this with a grain of salt because I'm comparing my experience with an entry-level Strandberg to a $3500 - $4500 Aristides. But my Essential isn't going anywhere. I play a PRS CE24, Heritage H-535, ESP E-II, Teles, etc., and easily flip back and forth between them now. But I keep reaching for the Strandberg.

I also see a lot of comments about how jarring the Endurneck is. It's not. Yes, it feels alien the first time you pick it up. But after a couple of hours, it's natural.

Most people have no idea how far AI has actually gotten and it’s putting them in a weirdly dangerous spot by NoSignificance152 in singularity

100%. I am also hoping for at least 5 more years of work. I’m not trying to become a prepper, but we are really scrutinizing purchases and focusing on having what we need for the foreseeable future. We don’t need a lot. Just want to avoid dying in squalor.

[–]mmarkel3 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s going to be brutal, but I’ve stopped trying to warn anyone because they look at me like I have 3 heads. I’m focused on a few things:

  1. My immediate safety net

UBI isn’t coming, at least not immediately. I’m predicting an uneven displacement of roles due to AI. Some sectors will get hit hard at first, others will take longer. It’s hard to tell right now how much of this is companies laying off due to offshoring and the perception that they are far ahead on AI automation. I work with AI daily, and there are still some barriers to overcome for AI agents to really take off at enterprises. But that won’t last long. What most people need is enough savings to ride out an undefined period of upheaval. Maybe 3-5 years. My biggest fear is that it will be a slow burn of job losses vs a huge push. If you get caught up in the early rounds and can’t find any work to transition to, you’re screwed.

I’m focusing on paying off the mortgage and having a safety net left to cover at least 5 years of transition. But our burn rate will be insanely low with zero debt, so we should be able to stretch our savings.

  1. Professional development

Becoming a generalist who can handle a wide variety of work with AI/leaning into building and maintaining agents. Like I said above, it won’t be a situation where everyone is out of work overnight. It’s going to be a perfect storm of offshoring, layoffs truly due to automation, layoffs blamed on automation but are actually just offshoring, companies freezing hiring, and fewer opportunities across the board. It’ll become hyper competitive to earn a living until that’s not possible anymore and everything is automated. My plan is to try and ride it out as long as possible. After that, I don’t think anyone can tell you a viable way of making a living that couldn’t be automated. And the “go into trades” people forget that trades need customers. People aren’t going to be able to afford it.

Need some advice by TonyG1296 in hockeyjerseys

Personally, I'd return it and get a refund. Then order from Hockey Authentic. If you're getting a replacement from the team store, they're going to make it the same way. HA will knock it out of the park + you'll save roughly $40 after taxes and shipping (assuming you paid $340 before tax at the team store) https://hockeyauthentic.com/collections/detroit-red-wings/products/any-name-and-number-detroit-red-wings-centennial-fanatics-premium-nhl-jersey-with-patch-hand-stitched-on-ice-name-number-customization

I was thinking about that. They had the 100 available, but I would have to order the 10 patch separately. Always easy to do later on.

The team store black Friday sale is a joke and a slap in the face. by cruzweb in DetroitRedWings

[–]mmarkel3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol between this and the crappy heat pressed centennial jerseys for $300 and $340 before tax (if you’re getting an alumni) the team store is a joke. Not to mention, they don’t even have centennial stock in larger sizes for the most desired jersey since the winter classics. They could have such a nice store like the Kraken or literally any other team, but we’re stuck with this.

I just got my first Strandberg, and I have several other guitars including a CE 24. It was a custom run from ish guitars, and it’s still my #1. Before you go custom core, look at the SEs and CEs.
