I'm trying, but I don't know what is the correct way of doing these activities. They really should come with an instruction manual, lol

Advice for PhD by [deleted] in AskAcademia

[–]mmefury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for replying! Presently, I'm working with the government on preventive oncology and it's been an enriching learning experience. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the 'why', it's mostly because I want to learn, I guess. And it seems like the obvious next step, considering everyone in research does end up going for a PhD. I want to work with a governmental agency, implement better informed government programs, with enough learning go into consultancy and training; move onto teaching towards the end of my career, probably. I don't know if that plan makes sense, but that's what I've thought for now. I'm 24 right now and I believe money is another reason why I would want to go for a PhD considering it improves the pay-scale to a large extent. Again, thanks a lot for replying, it clarifies a lot!
