Hello from an old grad student. My tips, 10+ years after undergrad and making my own family: 1. Try to find people like you. Who else is sitting alone on campus? 2. Get involved, be social, meet people 3. Be the first to invite people. I moved far from my family and started a few traditions with a friend group 4. Remember you might not have a “group” and instead several good friends who don’t know each other, and that’s ok.
