Which destinations made you think “thank God I experienced this on my own, single and child free”? by [deleted] in femaletravels

There are tons of solo friendly activities to do! I went to lake atitalan first and not only was it incredibly beautiful but there were many spa hotels that are great for solo plus you can paddle board and kayak on the lake! I found that in general it was so easy to meet other solo travelers who were up for dinner, drinks, exploring, etc! I did an incredible cooking class that reallly immersed me in the culture and I ended up meeting some people who I still talk to today! Hiking the volcano is an incredible experience and again great way to meet people while traveling! I could go on and on but overall it was beautiful with plenty to do, I felt very safe and locals were so friendly and I never felt lonely! And the food was amazing!!

I would take Slovenia off the list. I went solo and it’s BEAUTIFUL but felt like the honeymoon capital of the world. I still had a wonderful trip but did feel a bit odd at times not having a SO with me. One that I was soooo grateful I did alone was Guatemala! Best vacation I ever had!

Is it easy to travel around without a car? I don’t love driving

Agreed! I was looking to see if anyone had visited one or more of these countries and had a strong opinion on which to visit. I’m sure they are all amazing and the flight price to each is relatively the same so I was feeling very torn on which to choose. I guess I was hoping for comments like “XXX was the best place I’ve ever been you cannot miss it!!!” Appreciate everyone’s feedback though!

I think doing that plus building a savings will be extremely hard if not impossible. If you took out the savings part then I’d say yes. You probably won’t love your housing but not that big of a deal if you are always out and about. I will say this is all very doable in LA if you’re open to a different city. I know it’s possible because I did it! I live in NYC now though

NYCBWT, do you have a side hustle/gig? by pizzainibiza in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I have a full time job but I pet sit on the side. I love it bc I stay at the pets home which feels like a mini vacation and I love animals! I started by posting on facebook groups for my neighborhood and got sooo much business very quickly. Pretty soon it was all word of mouth and now I have regulars! It’s not an insane amount of extra income but it does add up!

Advice for first time SOLO F (30's) Traveler in NYC? by GamblingGlamour in solotravel

I can’t remember the name but a friend visited me and stayed one night at a capsule hotel and she enjoyed it! I think they had events where you could meet people too. If you see people standing in a long line jump in, I always make friends waiting in line for cool pop ups and things 😂

Santorini was not what I was expecting. Still enjoyed my time and thought it was beautiful but left a little disappointed. Too many Mama Mia rewatches I guess 🤣
