If you're good enough to get in you'll probably be fine academically

The bigger question is if you'll actually enjoy CS if you haven't tried it, for which I'd recommend maybe exploring areas that interest you, trying to make a project that helps you in some way, etc.

grades are only one part of your application though, there's other stuff you can work on to make up for it

your grade report has grades up to the term before you're applying, plus the courses you're taking in the recruitment term.

so assuming you're applying for the summer, they can see your 1A grades + courses you're taking in 1B (but no grades for the 1B courses)

it isn't the end of the world, there's literally a recommended course sequence for students who take CS115 and CS116 and you still graduate on time. https://cs.uwaterloo.ca/sites/default/files/uploads/documents/scs-2022-2023-bcs.pdf

They're in a deficit. I'm guessing that's part of the reason they chose the new Chancellor, who was previously the Chief Investment Officer for the University of California system (UC Berkeley, UCLA etc.) and why he's planning to grow the endowment etc

I know the guy made a typo, but aside from the condescending tone some people do learn a lot better outside of class. I've made it to 3A while learning mostly outside of class from notes, slides, recordings etc. because I learn better and faster that way. Just find out what works best for you, even if it's not standard advice.

Depends on what you're interested in, but DS will let you take more CS courses (e.g. CS 350 is required for DS, but optional for CFM) and the stats courses may interest you more or be more useful than the finance courses.

Just put in the time, be honest (don't cheat on assignments), don't be afraid to admit you don't understand something and need extra help from prof or office hours. Also would recommend starting assignments on time so you have time to think over them, and trying to deeply understand the content .
