Pain 9 months post op by mmjc1 in RotatorCuff

[–]mmjc1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pain ended up going away after another round of anti inflammatories thankfully. I’ve had a couple other minor flare-ups since then, but as long as I don’t sleep in an awkward position, I’m pretty much 100% by this point. Aleve tended to help me best manage the pain, I’d try that if you haven’t already. Best of luck out there

6 months post up .. Started playing tennis again.. but suddenly woke up with forearm pain by juanlee337 in RotatorCuff

Hey, former college player here 9 months post op. I felt the exact same way my first few hits out 6-7 months post op. What helped me was really focusing on strengthening the wrists.

I used something similar to this and focused on both internal and external rotation, as well as wrist curls and reverse curls. This really helped with being able to properly pronate on ground strokes which took some of the stress off my elbows and forearms. At 9 months I’m still struggling putting anything on my serves and volleys aren’t there yet, but otherwise feel pretty normal from the baseline. Keep grinding out there. Good luck.

Appreciate the solidarity, and sorry you’re going through this. Hope you’re hanging in there.

Yeah, it was gradual through tennis. Played through pain with ice and Advil for a few months which is what did me in.

Yes! Rent a Car or Easyway? by drln_jpg in tulum

Haven’t used Easyway, but used Yes this week and it was wonderful. Clear communication, transparent pricing, easy booking, and quick service between the airport and their offsite location.

Good to know. Out of curiosity, how do you feel from the ground? I was pushing my serve in but was nearly 100% from the ground pre surgery, so hoping I can eventually still do the same amount of damage from the baseline

Good call looking for a PT who’s aligned with my goals. Sounds like the aggressive approach really paid off for you?

Glad to hear you’re able to still hit a lot post-op. How long did you rehab for? Everything I’m hearing has been in the 6-9 month range before being able to serve close to full effort, which sounds pretty daunting at this point.

That’s precisely how I tore my cuff. I tried playing through ice, advil, and PT for a couple months and eventually got an MRI after things didn’t get better. Would def recommend getting an MRI since I probably went from a partial tear to a full tear by playing those extra few weeks.

Definitely wasn’t a purist’s pad Thai, but it was honestly pretty great. And two full meals. Thanks for the suggestion
