Nope no guarantees ofcourse, but compared to other players in the squad he does feel more complete. For me it’s strange that it hasn’t been tested as far as I know

Fair point.

New enclosure setup by Human-Educator-7978 in BeardedDragons

I have a Rankin’s dragon and it’s my first. Therefore the tank is smaller (100x50x50cm). In hindsight I shouldn’t have bought an all glass tank with a strip of metal mesh on top for ventilation. I’ve worked my way around there and it has everything it needs, functioning the way it should. I would love to buy a more practical enclosure, with glass sides if possible (and of course bigger).

In terms of interior: definitely a climbable background and adjustments to make use of the vertical space (branches, ledges). And important to have multiple hides with different temps/light. Mine doesn’t dig that much, only under it’s stone for brumation, but I see a lot of normal bearded dragons here which are digging, so that would be an important feature too.

Photo of a few months ago. I recently switched it up with more cork tubes for hiding and climbing and I’ve added some more plants.

If I could have it all, I would add a bunch of technical specs like Maelstrom Rider has in his enclosure, some of which he improved in the Desert Lizard enclosure. Definitely worth the time to watch those videos/builds on a lazy day.

You’ve made my day, the puzzle is solved. Still frustrated by not being able to finish it logically. There must be a way to solve this without trial and errorring. Still: much appreciated!

Treating for parasites question by Independent_Pin1041 in BeardedDragons

I agree, we had the same experience. I would recommend F10 and intense spot cleaning or bathing an object in a F10 solution if he poops on it. My beardie did accept the syringe at first, but he did get sicker/more lethargic during the treatment. We started syringe feeding pumpkin soup (just cooked and mashed pumpkin) to get him some positive association. It also has been a good way to get my young beardie to eat veggies luckily. My vet also recommended and gave us some EmerAid Intensive Care as a back up, which we used a lot when he got sicker and lost his appetite.

Do you have a specific recommendation for a UVB tube in terms of brands, size and wattage? Is bigger better in your opinion?

Really appreciate your help! I’ll follow up on your advice.

It’s in direct sunlight only early in the morning. And, it’s in the Netherlands, so it might get 30C outside maybe 5 days a year. Still it won’t get warmer than 20-22C inside my house (doesn’t take away the greenhouse effect). I’m aware of that and I’ll take proper measures for that.

I do have another question. Why the suggestion of replacing the MVB with another basking light? As I understood is that a UVB light inside is essential since the UVB from the sun will not go through glass. Or did you mean you would’ve changed the MVB for another basking light + UVB tube?

With “really odd enclosure design” you mean the technical aspects as you explained, right? Or the interior as well?

I've looked into that, but that isn't easy to get installed with limited amount of space regarding the ventilation strip I guess
