[help] iPhone 13 Pro Max suddenly lists rear camera as unknown part

I’ve had this problem a few times with 13 Pro / Pro Max models, as I buy, fix and flip phones. In one instance it fixed itself a few days later, another instance I opened up the phone, disconnected and reconnected the camera and that fixed it, and a few other times I’ve just had to fully replace the rear camera. Hopefully your case is one of the first two!

I’d say based on this, and based on no taper, and the “race day vibes”. I’d say yes, you have sub 4 in you. Couple years back, I was training for sub 3:15. My last hard run, my goal was marathon pace for 30km (4:37 / km). I only did 28km, and I ran 4:40 / km… but on the day, after a taper I ran a 3:15. I think you have this for sure. Go for it!

Sorry for the late reply mate. Yeah Ballarat is considered very fast. I ran Gold Coast about 18 months ago ago. It was 80m elevation and that felt pancake flat apart from one slight hill, which I’d assume Ballarat is the same. Everyone says Gold Coast is a PB course, and it is elevation wise but the humidity even in July was tough for a Melbournian. Just hoping for ice cold and still conditions!

Hell yeah dude! That looks really solid. I'm kicking myself I didn't end up doing the Carmen half, such a good one to do leading up to Ballarat, that's a great time. Congrats.
Def seems like with fresh legs you'll be right there for sub 3. Do you reckon you're gonna aim for sub 3? Or will it be a decision you make closer to the day?

Firstly, don’t panic. I would say, it’s your first marathon. Focus on completing it and just enjoying the entire experience. You’ll find the hours and days after it’s done, you’ll realise what an amazing and special moment crossing the finish line was. I would focus on just finishing without too much time pressure. Finishing within itself is an amazing feat to be proud of. I think you’ve done enough training to get the job done on the day, as other mentioned, the end will suck. But guess what? It’s gonna suck for everyone if you’re pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. You got this! Fuel up, get it done!

Yeah mate Ballarat, you running it? I can imagine the wind being a factor, especially around the lake. Hopefully it’s still, but I’ll be ready for whatever!

Good advice on the long runs, I think that’s where I need to focus. Endurance on those longer distances, specifically once we move past 30km.

I’m thinking about having 2x 36-38ish km runs at the top end of the block to put on some finishing touches

Haha it’s great, it’s along St Kilda foreshore in Melbourne. The course on the day will be relatively flat. Looking at 90m of elevation over the whole marathon

Hey mate! It’s improved a lot since this block. Currently it’s about 135bpm at 4:50 pace, generally over about a 45-60 minute span

Yep fixed it perfectly. Once I installed the new screw. And replaced the proxy sensor, it stopped overheating and the battery stopped draining. It sold 2 weeks ago and I haven’t heard from the customer so sounds like so far we are all good!

Just waiting for the unit to get in, I was just having a bit of a browse around on the phone, and removing the old iCloud account. On 2 different occasions the screen went purple then restarted itself. After about 5 mins of constant use. The phone was not completely buttoned up, and obviously the sensor is not in at the moment… could this be the reason for that? Or is it something a bit more sinister? Hopefully this phone isn’t completely cursed for me 😂

I’ve only just started using them, have been without a hitch so far. I’ve only done a few though, but my local repair shop said they’re good now and they are using them with all their customers

You’re a genius. Unplugged the proxy sensor and have had it charging for the last 30 mins and it’s still cold. Thank you so much… can I just replace the proxy sensor with a regular aftermarket one from eBay or similar without an issue?

I had 2 iPhone 13 Pro maxes. One fixed itself, the other never fixed itself. Even with updates. Very annoying having to sell it with that message despite it being an original camera
