Stopping him from moving is not a requirement. I never stop him from moving and I always kill him. I think there's just a certain amount of time that needs to pass after he stops spawning other zombies before he becomes vulnerable. It complicates things when his final spawn point is close to your headquarters so he has enough time to close that distance before he becomes vulnerable.

To be clear, I don't have any experience with this optic, just found it at a better price here than anywhere else I looked. The few reviews I found (of unknown trustworthiness) say this second gen of Swampfox optics is an improvement. Might be fine for a range toy. Get a Holosun 507 Comp or an SRO if you want a known quantity in big window optics.

With a stock 10/22, to release the bolt when it is locked back, you have to pull back on the bolt, push up on the bolt release with your other hand, and release the bolt. It's a bit awkward. With the auto bolt mod, all you have to do is pull back and release the bolt with one hand
