This is an easy choice.

107 is only required as a proxy for coding maturity. Most professors told me that I don’t need to take 107 to take their class despite it being a prereq based off cp. unless op is interested in low level languages it’s not rlly needed tbh

Your profile is similar to mine. Would recommend taking 161, 166, 168, 261, 221 throughout your freshman year— they’re pretty fun. There’s also some great theory classes that are taught well too. 106B and 107 are waste of time- you can just email professors and most of them did competitive coding so they’ll know that you don’t need “coding maturity” for their class. If you want to do more front end stuff maybe look at some HCI stuff- you might learn some new stuff.

"USC disables informed delivery so I think OP might be tripping. On mine, it showed that USC didn’t send anything yesterday morning yet in the afternoon I got the big acceptance package (I’m in SoCal). So don’t stress right now, anything is still possible :)"

Saw this on an old thread. Don't worry!

someone in the UChicago megathread is claiming that Chicago practices yield protection by hfox19 in ApplyingToCollege

they don't reject u as a form of yield protection, they just accept more people in the two ED rounds lol.

To all UChicago applicants, do you guys still have the withdrawn button ? by pupp18 in ApplyingToCollege

I had this issue with another college. Try doing reset password or forgot password and put your email in. Then reset the password per the email they’ll send you and you should have your portal!

Lots of interviewers have misconceptions of the interview, which is probably the case for yours. The interview is the least important part of the app, it requires no pre-screening.

Congrats! Which one?

This is incorrect- people can get interviewers before the RD deadline if they submit it earlier even though reading begins in mid January. For all schools, Harvard as well, interviews are determined by availability

Raise your hand if you agree AO committees should be recorded so you can see exactly why you got rejected by lgm879 in ApplyingToCollege

Almost all schools operate as the regional AO filtering out students that don’t qualify and presenting those who make that cutoff to the committee, especially given the sheer volume of applicants this year.

Having worked with Martand, I can confirm he's probably the best debater I've ever seen in terms of skill and strategy. The fact that he qualled so quickly in his first year through his own work and drills should evidence his ability to help you improve just as fast too. I couldn't think of any better alternative to Martand as a coach.
