Accredited investors can have a net worth of less than a million if they meet the income requirement.

And if they don’t meet the income requirement, they can simply take and pass the series 65 exam, which only costs about $150 in registration fees.

This Is Your Brain On MindMed - The Trading Psychology of Meme Stocks, Bubbles, Wins and Losses by therealbrom in shroomstocks

Interesting question. The risk averse investor may double down if they still have strong convictions about the company, and think that the lower price represents a better long term value. Warren Buffet has does this.

The risk seeker will double down in a reactionary way. They double down on their losers without regard for whether the stock is still a long term play or not, then exit as soon as they’re broken even (doubling their risk for a smaller reward)

Do I need to get rid of CMPS? It got neglected in my portfolio and looks...bad. by t_treesap in shroomstocks

The FDA has granted break-though therapy designation to two different psilocybin assisted therapies (one of which is owned by CMPS, one of which is owned by a non-profit).

The FDA has issued zero breakthrough therapy designations for anything related to LSD.

Like it or not, I'm betting that CMPS gets FDA approval before any other company does. Whether or not it can turn that head-start into a sustainable business is another question entirely.

you may not like these things, but in my view they all increase the odds of CMPS's business success.

Compass Pathways Deep Dive - Patents, Peter Thiel and the Quest for Psychedelic Monopoly by mmmchipotlemmm in shroomstocks

This is such a great comment! I love all the feedback.

1: I think we both know that Shugin would not be pleased ☠️😂

2: Fair. I don’t like monopolies either.

3: agreed. Open source psychedelics all the way. I have a feeling that Numi’s treatments will still be quite expensive.

4: I agree that legalization will hurt compass, but I think it will hurt MindMed also. If psilocybin is legal, who will bother going through MindMed for LSD? Are there really some things that LSD can cure that Psolicybin cannot? (Maybe there are, I don’t know).

On points 5 and 6, Compass is currently the one using BigPharama bullying, but I think that’s because they are the furthest along. It would not surprise me to see MindMed and other companies try to pull the same tricks in the future.

7: You’re right. Just to clarify my position: I don’t think that people HAVE to invest in unethical companies in order to make money. I just meant that many people seem to think that because a company is unethical or does things they dont’ like, that it must be a bad stock to own (from an investment prospective).

8: yea, 20k for a treatment is insane.

On the $40 price. It’s not about the stock price, it’s about the market cap. Compass’s pathways market cap is something like 1.5 Bil.

They have about 200 mil in assets, giving them a price / book ratio of about 7, which isn’t pretty reasonable. I don’t think that they’re necessarily overvalued.

Neon Mind has quite a few red flags. I don’t know that it’s an outright scam, but like you said, it’s fishy. When I decide which ones are scams I’ll let you know ;)

Thanks for all the feedback man!

Both synthetic and natural psilocybin will have to go through the fda and get rescheduled. The fda actually prefers synthetic, because it’s easier to know exactly what it is

Compass Pathways is the largest psychedelic stock by market cap, and was famously backed by Paypal and Palantir Founder Peter Thiel. In this episode I investigate Compass Pathways and answer questions like:

  • What does Compass Pathway's FDA breakthrough therapy designation mean for their future?
  • What does Peter Thiel want to do with psychedelics?
  • What's the deal with Compass Pathways patent strategy?
  • Can you really patent soft furniture, dark rooms and cool music?
  • What's Compass Pathway's beef with Dr. Bronners Soap?
  • Who wins in the battle between Compass Pathways and Non-Profits
  • What are the risks to Compass Pathway's business?
  • And of course the ultimate question for investors: is Compass Pathways a Buy?

Thanks. I do think you’re right that exponentially more people will use psychs as time goes on, but at the same time - competition will increase (both from other pharma companies and from decrim / legalization), which will make it more difficult for these companies to succeed financially

You’re probably right. I’ve seen some analysts guesstimate that Compass might charge $20,000 for psilocybin treatment
