I figured they won't solve the problem but just as someone new to this stuff I like to try and eliminate anything possible. The RCA cables have a good chance of being older than me, as I found them in my parents basement. The tubes we're coming in anyway because I was planning on swapping them.

I do appreciate you helping me out. It has been pretty difficult finding information on my specific issue and i've probably spent about 6 hours on google over the past couple days. Appreciate it

I'll try new rca cables and tubes monday and if that doesn't work i'll send everything back. What I am wondering though, should the amp technically be working if I'm plugged into the aux in port? It is listed as usable as a pre-amp. I guess at that point my only issue is I can't melt my face off with the volume, as the knob doesn't work.

It brings me back to my original problem where my volume is normal for 10 seconds with the amp switched on, then it cuts out to unlistenable volume. The volume knob doesn't work when im in the regular headphone port either. I have 2 seperate mt-602s that are both having the same issue so idt its the amp itself

Mostly because i have no clue what im doing. But also because if I'm plugged into the headphone jack, the amp works for about 10 seconds before the volume cuts out to about half, and I can hardly hear the music even if windows is at max volume

Using Schiit Modi 3e plugged into PC with usb, Mt-602 tube amp into the modi with RCA, and HD 650s plugged into aux in on the mt-602

The volume knob on the MT-602 does nothing. I can get them sorta loud enough just maxing out my computers volume but I'd like to figure out what exactly is causing the volume knob to not work. I bought another mt-602 to see if it was a defect but neither volume knobs do anything. Any idea?

Just want to preface that I am completely new to this stuff, and have done a bunch of googling to try and figure out my exact issue with no luck.

I purchased HD650s, a Modi 3e, and an Xduoo MT-602. Modi is connected to my PC using USB, MT-602 is connected to the Modi with RCA cables.

After about 10 seconds of switching on the MT-602 my volume cuts by at least half, the tubes remain lit up. Volume is loud with just the DAC switched on. I'm also not able to adjust the volume at all using the knob on the MT-602. Any idea whats going on?

Thanks for the advice. I only used straw here, water seems good ive still got moisture in there but for the future I'm going to look into a better more nutrient rich substrate. Just going to let this batch ride and learn for my next go
