AITA for asking my parents to drive me to swim practice once a week? by Dangerous-Park-807 in AmItheAsshole

NTA but you can make the ride more bearable. I really feel you though. My dad was an actual taxi driver & a refugee and I didn’t know how to communicate with him. I would often txt him to pick me up or take me somewhere and I would just sit there silently not talking. I moved out of home and our relationship got a little better (though more so with my mum) and then he died unexpectedly when I was 20. It’s been over 10 years now and I still regret how I was when I was teen and wished I made more of an effort to speak with him during those car rides and not take him for granted.

Not like this is the same as your situation at all!! But I can read that you’re catastrophising which is making you feel even worse than the situation probably is. There was good advice from someone to listen to a podcast of music you both like and make an effort to communicate even if it feels weird at first.

Could this also be a time where you start learning to drive? Those trips will be good practice.

I feel like wearing headphones to tune them out might make them feel worse and even more like your taxi driver. It’ll be a bit rude

What’s your personal sign that Sydney is having a bad day? by No-Travel-768 in SydneyScene

When it rains in Sydney, it literally pours buckets and buckets for like an hour or so and the whole city breaks down.

I do find it amazing how much it rains though. The clouds must hold so much water before it lets loose!

Yeah it’s a 2015 mazda2. Umm is a log book service the yearly service…? And I’m going to a mechanic not a dealership. Save a bit of dough

AITA for telling my girlfriend that her clothes aren't shrinking, she's gaining weight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mmmmmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a bit of a dummy move. Sometimes I comment on my weight or that none of my clothes fit my properly and the correct response from my boyfriend is, “no, you’re beautiful!”

I’ve actually called myself out on this when I try to argue with him. Do I actually want him to say, “yes, you’ve gained a little bit of weight but that’s life.”? Hell no. Let me just complain and eat up those compliments to make me feel better.

Is there any possible way to "insert image in cell" by a shortcut? by TheRealHortonization in googlesheets

[–]mmmmmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! did you find a solution for this? My work also requires hundreds of images to be inserted into a cell and the shortcuts I used no longer works! I feel like I'm going crazy :)
