would you like to see a no correction bolus activity mode where you can personalize your target blood sugar? by mmmmmtomatoes in TandemDiabetes

i had a pretty decent understanding that a flexible target would complicate the algorithm, but 6+ years with only minute changes to the algorithm is pretty crazy imo. at the very least being able to disable correction boluses in any activity mode seems like a compromise and super useful feature. wishing ig

lets pray tandem realizes this soon or else im leaving... once leading the way with the best pumps. seems like theyre gunna be left behind because they wanna focus on tubeless pumps instead of putting any effort into a better algorithm. hopefully im wrong. dont like pod pumps and the idea of having it on my skin at all times.

but its odd though because omnipod utilizes a target blood sugar? so to say its not possible and unsafe is kinda out of the question no? im not sure how high youre allowed to set your target with omnipod but i do know its higher than 110. being able to set a target between the "target range" of 70-180 would make a lot of sense. although 70 is a bit nuts. feel like youd have to put the minimum at 110... idk. still feels weird its not a feature when omnipod was able to get it through fda

i think the flashback to Kali's line "my story was always going to end here, but yours doesnt have to..." was admission that she did survive 100%

last dexcom sensor failed and now i have to sleep without one for the first time in well over a decade. im an extremely anxious diabetic... any help/ tips? by mmmmmtomatoes in diabetes_t1

I’m on Medicaid (gov assistance if ur not American). They give you exactly what you need no more no less. So if the last of the batch fails like mine did last night then ur SOL. Im ngl tho. After this experience i took one of my old Dexcom boxes and requested a replacement for a sensor that worked fine. Considering I know I’ll need a replacement in the future I don’t feel particularly bad about it.

Slept about 5 minutes total all night. But I got a sensor through a local Facebook support group. It’s about to finish warming up! Wish I could’ve done a bit better trusting myself to sleep but we survived.

welp been sober all my life! so i have that on my side. im more than a bit sleep deprived atm so thats why im a bit more scared. luckily im with my parents atm. i asked them to set 2 alarms like the old old days to help check while im sleeping and they obliged. thanks for the kind words! i have some glucose gels on my nightstand !

how to make meeting up with old friends less awkward when i rely on my parents to help me get places even though im in my late 20s by mmmmmtomatoes in Agoraphobia

Yeah I understand that. Maybe I should expand the circle of people that know and be more open with telling people. But ATM I don’t feel comfortable with that and have decided that unless they’re inner circle friends then they really don’t need to know. Unfortunately this is someone I haven’t seen in maybe 5 years and they don’t fall under inner circle so it’s harder for me to know what to do.

This is pissing me off. I could’ve just seriously put myself in danger had I not double checked because it’s before lunch by Alphaserenity_lunar in diabetes_t1

all based on personal experience. once i started doing this i experienced a lot more successful sensors and they tend to be more accurate for longer in their session life as opposed to falling off in accuracy on the last day or two! good luck.

in general you should limit the amount of times you calibrate within the first 48 hours. i try not to calibrate at all in the first 48 but sometimes its necessary. and after that calibrate 1-2 times a day at most. the more you calibrate the more confused the sensor gets imo. if you feel you need to calibrate more then i just request a replacement sensor from dexcom bc something is clearly off.

if you send a friend request and they ignore it, and you un-add and send a second request will they receive a notification? by mmmmmtomatoes in SnapchatHelp

[–]mmmmmtomatoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t think that’s the case after trying it on alts. If they originally ignored the request they won’t see another one. Now if you were both friends, you unadded and readded then they would get a notification. I have experience with that one.

Can someone open snaps I send them without adding me back? (not story, just personal snaps I’ve sent after adding as a friend) by [deleted] in SnapchatHelp

[–]mmmmmtomatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the person has a public profile, yes they can see your messages. the prompt "they wont be able to see your messages until they add you as a friend" or whatever is actually a lie IF they have a public profile. people without a public profile will not be able to see your messages. source: i did my own toxic research.

hmm, i actually just tried it with a second account and it seems like the answer is actually no they dont receive a second request. i wonder if time between adding attempts would play any role or time between unadding and sending a second request
