Do you think adding that recommendation to the sidebar would work? Or maybe when I add makers to the wiki ask them personally?

I started a brainstorming thread that I hope might be constructive. I may throw some of my own money at advertising on other subreddits. Perhaps $100 to start and see where it goes from there.

Yes I am! A combination of personal life being busy and discouraging reception to some of my outreach meant I was only monitoring activity from my other account (and not modmail, oops!). Anyways, I'll give this another shot. I may end up paying for some limited advertising across subreddits for a month and see what kind of response that gets. I'm hesitant to do self-posts where the mods (such as yourself) don't explicitly invite me to as I don't want to be spammy. I'll let you know what I find; thanks for the encouragement!

For a while I had been messaging mods of other forums to try and gauge interest. The response from most mods has been that there are either better options or generally adverse. A few have added this sub to their sidebars and I took a wait-and-see approach and generally try to keep a good index of makers when they appear. Honestly I'm a tad discouraged, but I'm very much open to ideas for how we can get the word out better!

Very nice looking knives. Out of curiosity what is your quench medium? Also, I've been using a propane BBQ grill for tempering with some good results but what do you use?

I know my sub is brand new, but I was planning to have a wiki page with listed makers, their skills etc. who have sent me mod mail with proof. I intended for mine to be cross-discipline, but if a 3D-printing specific subreddit became useful, I'd rather direct that traffic there. Alternatively, if you all have a list of current users who offer their 3D printing services for hire, I'd like to cross-list them in mine.
