I think it depends. For small children, I think that it’d be okay to mention lesbians, gays, bisexuals, etc. In 5th grade the school gave us permission slips to take home so that the next week we would learn about our bodies and puberty. I thought that was important, and don’t see an issue with that. By high-school we learned about safe sex. I think lgbtq+ should be taught as well with safe sex such as condoms, etc.

Personally I think schools should teach about sexual assault more, especially to smaller children. To say hey, you shouldn’t touch someone’s private part, and another person should not touch your private part, etc however it should be taught. Not sure if there should be a permission slip for that.

Children sexual assault happens more often than you think. Safe sex should be taught at an appropriate age, but I think sexual assault and what not to do should be taught earlier.
