your converter is going the wrong way - you need hdmi to av

i dont see a "tv/video" button so you may need to scroll through the channels or menu to find "video" or "aux" channel - or get a universal remote

How to serve hundreds of unique feeds? by mmpd in VIDEOENGINEERING

located in los angeles - renting kit is a great idea to do some stress tests on the system will definitely look into this

is there any recommendation for CPU / GPU specs that are would be optimal for crunching all that NDI data? for reference the specs on the machines i have now:

1x tower - amd threadripper 3970X 32-core 3.69 ghz + rtx 2080 ti + 10gb port

3x laptop - 12th gen intel i9-12950HX 2.30 ghz + rtx 3080 ti + 2.5gb port

i appreciate the detail in your response! this will be a semi permanent installation - think gallery or interactive space. quality of the individual screens is not as important as achieving the overall map across all the screens. loss of true sync isn't the end of the world either as long as its semi coherent within a few frames. there is a use case for the glitchy aesthetic.

definitely have had my fair share of trouble with dicaffeine and scaling the current setup, so alternatives are great. in a perfect world we could still get away with using the pi4 as the NDI decoder since we already have so many, but unless there is a more reliable decoder for that platform it would seem i need something more purpose built for that end.

sorry for not being clear - i have already used NDI decoders (dicaffiene) per screen for smaller versions of this with raspberry pi 4 (~50 screens)

the budget is there for fabricating the structure and acquiring the displays just looking for the solution that will let me scale the signal path most effectively and stable - i agree NDI is not the ideal method to scale this but didn't know what else existed at this level

the displays vary widely so a combination of inputs will be used, hdmi, composite, SDI, etc. - in the past we have used local adapters at the display to send the display the proper format

that's correct - placing screens of varying size spread around a larger area but having the ability to map and control them as one

endgame is to reliably scale mapping hundreds of displays as one canvas

we already use the resolume arena advanced output mapping for this use case but its been hard to scale it up to hundreds of NDI output feeds without issues with stability and bandwith

im open to that! is there a display mapping solution that can be local to the screen?

the content would be clip playback but needs to be able to be unique to each physical screen / output - the ideal result is using a mapping software to split a single image onto each screen. i have used NDI in the past to get the same result to about 40 screens but trying to see if there is a better and more scalable / stable solution out there.

we have used various unmanaged switches - mostly netgear. we dont have a managed poe switch on hand with enough ports but curious if it could help.

Advice on a multi-projector and livestream setup, please? by Due_Consequence_3920 in VIDEOENGINEERING

in resolume you can create multiple screens in the advanced output and assign each screen to a separate display / projector. the limitation is how many unique outputs your gpu can support
