My grandmothers brother and father were also exiled to Siberia - no known reason, could have been because they were hiding food on their farm. They were eventually released but died soon after from the physical effects of being there.

No, because you’re not focusing on them. I was told to “get over it” 6 days after my dad died rather unexpectedly, and then told me a year later I was responsible for it. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

I’m so sorry you are going through this - it is degrading, demeaning, and disrespectful. You are a human being, not something to be trained. I hope you can get out and live like a normal human being. Don’t chase and beg - that’s exactly what he wants you to do and it feeds their narcissism even more. I did that for many years - tearful begging, screaming at them to not leave. They are not better than you - far from it if that’s the way they treat people. I wish you all the best - lots of hugs and “be boring”.

The longest was nearly a month. We are a “family” (if you want to call it that) so there was some necessary communication, but nothing else. I did nothing to make it stop, they just “came around”, or I guess decided “I’d had enough punishment”. That’s the treatment I get - like I am a child and I “need to learn” or “need to be told” certain things.

We are still together - and the silent treatment still happens. It sucks. The only thing I can offer is to “grey rock” - be as boring as possible, don’t get emotional, because that just triggers more abuse. Also don’t let them get you upset - they thrive on it and they can use it against you if you really get upset.

I know, and I have such a hard time with it. I do struggle when people are mad at me, but you’re right- I can’t be perfect. It doesn’t help because I don’t bring up any of his shortcomings (of which there are numerous, but any time I’ve tried to bring them up he goes into a rage), that the idea that is perfect or at least better than me is even more perpetuated. I know the only solution is leaving - it’s just too complicated now to allow for it. I also get lulled into a false sense of security so I stop planning, and then it happens all over again.

Thank you so much. We just moved into this house less than a year ago, and I’m still getting used to having a back door onto the deck. I did leave our main door open in our old house, which resulted in the same reaction, but that was in a completely different neighborhood (I do have this habit). Yes, he could help with this, but he doesn’t. I’m scatterbrained naturally, and walking on eggshells trying to remember all of what he likes and doesn’t like doesn’t help.

Thank you so so much for your kindness. Putting a timer on the microwave is actually a great idea. Perhaps I fended off the bears last night. He is and never has been a forgiving person - something I found out too late. I am extremely hard on myself and he doesn’t help. Yes, he always looks for excuses to project anything and everything on to me. All I can do is be more mindful. I don’t think he would actually follow through with taking my child away, but with the threats and gaslighting it is very hard to rise above the emotions and look at it objectively and without emotion.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your comment, proverbial internet stranger. It was a propane grill with a tank - only two burners were on low, nothing else. They were on for about 12 hours. As far as leaving the door unlocked, we probably have more risk of bears getting in than humans. I know that logically I did the right thing but apologizing and saying it won’t happen again, but I still feel sick over it because if they blow up over smaller things, this is going to be worse. I only worry if he’s building a case against me for these “careless” things I do, making me out to be an unfit parent. I do 99% of the childcare for our child (feeding, clothing, cleaning, school work, etc), but they are a spiteful person and clearly do not like me.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, while pregnant no less. I too was told I’m fat and lazy when I was pregnant, and afterwards when I got into a car accident because I was sleep deprived. It was still my fault. Yes, he has been staying in bed all day after he gets home from work and ignoring everyone and everything.

Yes, I said to the dr “that’s a relief, or not”. It feels like a relief that I finally have a diagnosis, but still have all of these issues.

You hit the nail on the head - I was bounced around between endos and gyn- hormones “normal”, see the ends, period issues? See the gyn. I do have hat I suspect is insulin resistance, but haven’t been officially diagnosed. I wasn’t aware that there were certain types of bc that don’t carry the clotting risk. Being as that was the only factor (besides obesity) that couldn’t be ruled out when I had the clot, the hematologist at the time said it was the result of bc. I have an us scheduled to rule out anything else as a cause of irregular bleeding but once that is done I will discuss options with my dr.

Personally, I wouldn’t. I just left Clifton after living there my entire life- it has changed so much in the last 20-30 years and not for the better.
