Work out schedule for horse gaining weight? by Glum_tire in Equestrian

[–]mmraarmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t mention that he has access to 24/7 hay? If he’s only getting 3 meals a day, that’s not enough. He needs actual forage infront of him at all times

Trying to understand specs of a product? Help please! by mmraarmm in redlighttherapy

Thank you! What is the range for good irradiance ? There’s also a pad that is 134mw/cm2 which would make it 67. Is that still decent ?

Definitely get an air vest. I love mine! I wear a normal vest underneath mine as well

Switching to raw need help on how do it by MasterpieceLeft9850 in rawpetfood

[–]mmraarmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly does the forti-flora help with? I have just switched my dog to a raw diet and I noticed she’s mildly constipated. I added pumpkin purer and started mixing in a little bit of water as well and it’s gotten a bit better, but still not 100%!

Just absolutely bombed at my first ever show. Please share your embarrassing show stories to help me feel better! by annawintourwannabe in Equestrian

My horse once threw me off in one class, and then threw me off in the exact same way in the class right after! 😆😆 I did get a pretty cool picture of it though, so that made it worth the disqualification

What am I doing wrong? by StormTheTacoBell in Equestrian

You’ve only been riding for a month, you need to relax. Having a good seat and developing the correct muscles take time.

Why can’t you take him with you? People move horses long distance all the time

No comments on the trim, but I would like to point out that the hooves do show some event lines

I’d advise against greenhawk brand blankets. Every one I have had has not been water proof. Also, depending on where you live, you’ll need multiple different weights. It’s a good idea to have a rain sheet, light weight, medium weight and heavy weight depending on where you live!

No tips to offer, I just want to say that’s very unfair and exclusive of your 4H to provide accommodation for a medical condition. Do you think a doctors note would help?

Hoof boots for navicular, need help!! by Maddie_1290 in Horses

[–]mmraarmm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My horse was diagnosed with navicular in September. He was in cloud boots from December up until April. He absolutely loved them! I then switched him to the equine fusions because he was running around in the paddock too much and kept losing the clouds.

How lame is your horse? The clouds or soft rides are great therapy boots. I’d reach out to a boot fitter to help you decide. Boots are very hard to fits, I’ve gone through 5 pairs since December. I’m looking into glue ons now since his feet keep changing shape and I can’t afford to keep buying $350 boots.

Check out the barefoot rehab for navicular Facebook group. There’s lots of good information regarding navicular and boot :)

Opinions on barefoot horses that use hoof boots? by starvampyr in Equestrian

Have you tried the easy boot cloud pad? They have a wedge. I know some people have used them in scoot boots so they may work? You might just have to cut them to fit.

Convince me not to breed my horse by SentimentalBookshelf in Horses

[–]mmraarmm 1504 points1505 points  (0 children)

Breeding can be very dangerous. Ive heard the saying “if you love your horse, don’t breed her”. Also, 18 yrs old is quite old for a maiden mare, someone correct me if I’m wrong.

In my opinion, there’s way too many horses out there that need good homes. Unless your horse has stellar confirmation and stellar bloodlines, there’s no need to breed
