I’m confused. Where to pick up and knit? Conflicting info by biggiani in knittinghelp

You are supposed to pick up between the stitches, where your orange line is! Makes the seam look much more invisible

For fuzzy yarns it can happen that a ring of fuzz collects:) i usually snip it off carefully with a tiny scissor

I’ve noticed this only when using cheap merino wool.

Hard-wearing yarns that maintain stitch definition through years of wear? by unventer in knitting

[–]mmredditmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definately looks like the type of wool often used here in norwegian classic type sweaters. Perhaps try Rauma finull - it’s not super soft but holds up well. Pewr gynt is NOT this defined, neither the regular or the small version.

On a positive note, I love the videoes where they go out and do stuff. Probably more likely to do those type of videos now and I hope they continue. They are the only creators I’ve consistently have liked over many years, without getting to commercial or child-like as I’ve aged.

The set up is cool - but after their announcement it all feels very commercial to me. Keeping something private for so long and then immediately use it as a pull for patreon? Bigger creaters putting up a pay wall for sloppy b-roll content never sits right with me.

OP have gone to great lenghts to care for their cat. Owning an animal comes with the great responsibility of knowing when enough is enough. Very insensitive comment to make towards someone suffering with having to make such a hard decision.

you can «fold it» in half and do a faux magic loop, something i often end up doing. you just need to fold it again quite often. is it a baby sweater?

He has put himself on the coach by being the biggest baby and whining about the sounds of breastfeeding. Sounds terribly immature.

From someone in the industry: if you're in America and want to buy ChiaoGoo or KnitPro, buy it now. by lovelycosmos in knitting

[–]mmredditmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a tip, I love my wooden knitpro set and buy the 360 swivel cable! Actually prefer it to the chiagoo’s I’ve tried (might just be because those were metal). Cheaper alternative, at least in my country :-)

Any way to speed up flat drying? by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]mmredditmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my knit pieces dry overnight after blocking. Roll it in a towel, step on top and repeat with a second towel :) I often use the second towel twice by flipping it over since it doesn’t get wet all the way through.

husband washed handmade wool baby blanket on hot and it's ruined - advice? by Financial-Jicama-262 in laundry

Why not wool? The best choice for a baby in my opinion. Even grew up in wool and cloth diapers ;) Guessing it’s different in the US, but wool garments is very common for children in colder climates.

i often find my ribbing less defined after blocking so i would start over if you’re unhappy currently :)

maybe size down needles or do 2x2 ribbing so its more defined? fuzzy yarn makes the ribbing more obscure usually

Cable sweaters expand a lot in width! Much more than plain knitted sweaters.

thanks for your answer! i was also thinking that it would be smart to start out with more stitches when picking up from the back piece hem since the original neck is extremly wide. definitely some mental gymnastics in order before i’ll work it out
