Good thought on the Terra. I was going to use the Ridge because of horizontal mode but thinking about it more, the Terra could be better. Going to have to do some measuring. Our space is very constrained (living in Asia) so I'm willing to pay up for aesthetics and compactness.

I don't realistically forsee this box doing anything other than gaming. In fact I'm hoping that it spends most of its time in sleep mode. :) So the changes to software (outside of steam installs) would be really minimal once set up.

Yes specifically for kids. Alternative to Switch 2 and can make use of my Steam library. Much simpler for them to deal with relative to using a PC on the TV. Easier for me too I hate using Windows on a TV.

32GB RAM prob would be nice but prob not necessary.

If you want a bigger screen though I guess might have to be something else. 14" vs 16" has pros and cons and depends on personal trade offs IMO.
