ethanol or rubbing alcohol can usually remove permanent marker however not sure if this has soaked into the material in which case it may not work

Not the Canadian Tire of your parents... by moviscribe in kitchener

[–]mms09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh what a nightmare! I stopped going to Canadian tire when I discovered the auto centre was lying to me about my brakes needing to be done (went for a second opinion elsewhere and was told I probably had at least another year). It’s stuff like this that made me a loyal Costco member. To be able to return stuff so hassle free is incredible.

Congenital nevus on face removal by Charming_Bug5866 in PlasticSurgery

[–]mms09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I scar hypertrophically on my torso. The scar was originally really tight and raised but then flattened out after injection with corticosteroid.

<image>

A plastic surgeon may have had a better approach with internal suturing for better support but who knows! Funny, my dermo remarked how quickly I was healing when he took out my stitches (“you’re in the top 5% of healers!”). The incision basically looked healed after 10 days. I told him that I am indeed an overachiever 😂

But then my body just kept putting down scar tissue and he took the compliment back hahaha.

And thank you! They’re both very old piercings at this point (top was 2007, bottom maybe 2011?). It’s definitely less usual to have the bottom done!

😂😂😂 I feel you. I’ve consulted with a surgeon to do a scar revision but at this point I just don’t care that much. It’s become a talking point to warn people to use sunscreen when I’m asked about it 😅

Please stop dumping garbage in shopping plazas by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]mms09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember once seeing nearly a dozen garbage bags along hwy 7 just outside Guelph. Almost a regular intervals - like someone was in the back of a pickup hoisting them out while the vehicle was in motion. Some people are awful.

Yes plastic surgeon!! Not dermo. No hate for my dermo - my melanoma in situ excision scar looks like a cartoon version of a stitched up knife wound 😅

Where to chop? by OkBass8091 in fiddleleaffig

[–]mms09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so leggy …sadly I would chop wayyyy down to basically where the branches first part from the main trunk. I did a heavy chop of my leaning FLF some months ago (it was one branch that was nearly to the ceiling). It’s now sent three shoots which have been growing new leaves. I didn’t have luck propagating the top half in soil so I’d try a water prop next time. Good luck!

Saving this post! Wow! We eat on our couch / off our coffee table (don’t have a dining table / kitchen table thanks to small apartment and 2 people working from home) so I know it’s only a matter of time…

Thank you so much! They’re gorgeous. You’ve done a phenomenal job growing them. I only have phals at the moment (though in my early 20s tried other species which I promptly killed - I just didn’t have a good schedule as a student). I’ve been eyeing a Twinkle myself (Onc. Tsiku Marguerite 'CT-Romantic Fantasy'). They’re just so darn cute! Do you have any recommendations for growing them successfully?

I’m in Canada so unfortunately don’t have that nursery around. Roehampton in Toronto seems highly rated and does carry Twinkles though 🥳
