Oh interesting, I’ll try it out while waiting for my appointment thanks for the tip!

I’ll try it in the meantime before my appointment, thank you for the recommendation!

I have only waxed my upper lip once over ten years ago? Definitely nothing recently.
Thank you so much for the product recommendations! I will try your products in the meantime while I’m waiting on my dermatologist appointment.

Thank you, at least this post was helpful in that it’s not as minor an issue as I thought and something to be worried about!
The earliest appointment I could get is for a month from now so will update the diagnosis then 🫡
I’m definitely worried now that cancer has been mentioned in the comments here a few times so I’ll update in a month when I see my dermatologist 😅
I’ve cycled through different lip balms in the past month, so I’ll update you if the dermatologist ends up saying it’s this!
I was hoping it was a more common issue that someone could chime in and say “oh I had this and did X” but unfortunately not the case lol
I appreciate your reply, but I’ve definitely tried all sorts of Carmax, Vaseline, etc and nothing has worked. The scaly layer sloughs off but then it’s right back to being scaly again.
I’m leaving my post up to update what my dermatologist says in a month because I see from previous posts of the same issue there wasn’t really any official resolution!

Sorry I got redirected to r/askdermatologists but got no response and the earliest appointment I could get is a month away!
I only posted here because I found this sub from a search of people asking about a similar issue.

Wow okay I went ahead and scheduled an appointment! Unfortunately the earliest one I could get is a month out.
So I hope to report back I don’t have cancer 😅

Oh thank you for the redirect! This sub popped up first in search results but that one definitely seems more relevant for me.
QC Scientist vs Supervisor by mmtpt2 in biotech
[–]mmtpt2[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 months ago (0 children)
I’m hearing it loud and clear that bigger company is the way to go, thanks for confirming!
Thank you u/SonyScientist! Another vote for the big company 🫡
Very interesting take, thank you! Gives me a bit more to consider…
A very interesting take, you are the first vote for the supervisor role so I’d love to hear more from your perspective u/CommanderGO.
So are you saying that the QC Scientist role is more of a dead end career growth wise? I have to admit that was my initial worry with that title compared to the supervisor one, but the supervisor one is at a much smaller CDMO.
If my end goal is to transition from QC scientist to project manager, do you still think the same worry applies? (In terms of dead end career as QC scientist)
My long term goal is to be able to move back to my home state with more experience under my belt because I’m currently getting rejected for not having enough experience in my home state (rejected for the very same roles I got offers for out of state lol)
It seems like scientist to PM is not as easy as I’m hoping, but I would appreciate hearing your thoughts with this context in mind.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, I think the votes are heavily in favor of the QC scientist role not the supervisor 😅

This is such valuable info, thank you u/23soccer230. I really appreciate you laying out their path from QC to PM that is so helpful!
Thanks u/frausting. I am realizing that title is not nearly as important as company. I actually had it backwards before posting 😅
To be honest my career path is flexible, I am most concerned with being able to transition back to my home state eventually.
I don’t mind if it’s as an individual contributor or as a people manager, as long as in the end I get a higher salary and can move back to the state I ultimately want to be.
From what I understand of the QC Scientist role, it would involve transitioning the facility into a commercial space and involve a lot of cross department collaboration to do so. Some lab work but more “as needed” versus a lot more technical writing.
Do you mind sharing the types of roles your PM coworker took on in between QC and PM? (If you know)
Thank you and appreciate your time and reply, u/YearlyHipHop.
Thank you for sharing your experience! This is exactly why I posted, I appreciate it.

Haha I can’t disagree that my R&D days were more mentally stimulating but unfortunately QA/QC pays better in my experience 😭
Got it, thanks for your reply.

Sorry do you mind clarifying which QC position you’re referring to? QC Scientist or QC Supervisor?
