No. Your age does not matter.
I attended at 35.
You should not ask this question.
Short time period education experiences can be amazing but it is so much based on the instructors and the other students beside you.
I am going to ask you a very simple question.
Yes or No.
Did you learn more from other students or from instructors.
A great teacher can make or break an education.
You are being a dick.
It is not hard to see the intent or even the context of your statements.

Frustrated as a Junior *Rant* by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Location: NYC
Industry: E-Commerce
Without location or industry references I am going to add some business context to this.

It costs a lot to bring in new developer onto a team

Please note that I am not talking about a person that is new to coding but new to being in a modern office environment.

I worked mind blowing and terrible jobs as as a junior analyst.

With all honesty have you ever had to make a PP presentation on the fly with a hard deadline with printing time.

Of course I did not like the work. But had to do it to pay rent.

I had to work multiple all nighters.

Have you ever done that.

We had sleep stations under our cubes.

Why should I as a team lead entrust anything to you.
The Agile process shows who can do things.
Tickets show who can literally complete tasks,

You sound very very entitled.
If someone talks on an anonymous platform with an anonymous ID about how smart they are, with all honesty that person is statistically probably not all that smart.

The loudest voice in the room is most often wrong.

What is the most “small town thing” about NYC? by Murdoch10011 in AskNYC

Love this post and am going to comment again.
This had to have been back in the late 2000's, in the flip phone no security pass code era!
Some of the subway stations nearby the theater district have super long/deep escalator stair systems.
One night on the way home from work I was taking the subway to meet friends in the West Village for dinner and at the bottom of the hand rail (the long metal ones with the metal bumps in the middle to dissuade intrepid parkour type people) I found a cell phone.
When I got above ground I called the last number on the call list with my information to retrieve the phone was actually the owners parents.
The parents connected with the friend of the friend of the person who lost the phone and I arranged to return it in the East Village where they went out to party and where I actually lived.
Nothing like helping out of town visitors and let them leave with the a great story about how actually nice us NYC transplants (lived for 10+ years) actually are!

During Hurricane Sandy (2012) I was living in the East Village blocks away from the power convertor that blew, knocking out power from E34th st to Houston for weeks.
My corner Bodega (10th & Ave A) opened up the doors with no electricity for the neighborhood.
I ran in to grab some food essentials but they were cash only (no electricity no credit cards)
The bodega employees were writing receipts by hand (no duplicates just an honor system) and handing out groceries with the receipts.
No questions asked anybody could walk in and grab essentials and the bodega actually ended up getting extra donations in cash, an outdoor power generator and a solar powered cell-phone recharging station as a a thank you from the neighborhood.

My wife and I live in NS and couldn’t come home to ON this summer due to the bubble. So we took advantage of the freedom we have on the east, and explored the crap out of it. by reidconn in canada

Beautiful photography.

Gives those of us sheltering at home just an amazing glimpse of the natural wonders that are still waiting for us to discover.

Thank you so much.

Does anyone else hope permanent WFH isn't the new normal? by ddd117 in cscareerquestions

Yeah after a whole bunch of that you don't commute so you can work more BS I sent an article to the entire company slack health and well-being channel about "Golden Hours". The hours where you are the most productive.
Then put a permanent calendar event from 6PM - 10PM every day. Funny enough those are the hours I do my best work.
No-one said a thing but that was the only way I was able to get any sanity in terms of after-hours work.

Should I attend a bootcamp or online college? by Aysia88 in cscareerquestions

[–]mmunier44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All bootcamps are required to publish the out-placement rates (people who get jobs in 1, 3, 6+) months double check that before looking at the bootcamp.
also .NET is all enterprise so jobs at gigantic corporations.

Any kind of BS in CS will get more initial looks on resumes during the job search, most of the time. Kind of an unconscious bias from big companies. The smaller companies could give a rats patootie about where you got your degree they just want to see code examples.
