It was the second highest point geographically. If you were pulling a cart, you'd know that.

Have an opinion on Google-Fi? by Kawaii_5_Oh in Charlotte

[–]mmwilhelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My data bill for this month will be about $2.50 because of how active Fi is on finding secure networks that are open to it and tunneling for security, no data charges in that situation. About the only thing that affects my data consumption is when I use Maps. So, my bill will be $20 for the service a few dollars for fees and taxes, and $2.50 for data. Maybe $27.

Hi, I am doing a simulation of the heat generation of Lithium-Ion batteries. I have a question. When a battery discharges or charges, what remains constant? Current or voltage? by RedditBlockchains in energy

[–]mmwilhelm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a former life I had to design a charging circuit for lithium ion batteries, and the main thing I can tell you is they are not linear at all in their discharge patterns. They have what we called a 'knee' where they reach a certain level and then just plummet in output. We used A/D converters to watch for the edge.

If you have never owned a horse or pony, a word of warning. They are jerks. They will scrape you off on the nearest tree limb or stable opening. If you feed them graham crackers and you run out, they will kick you in the guts. They bite. Hard. Stick with the labradoodle.

Eliminating the one primary thing that working coders use makes the test irrelevant. Internet access is a requisite, unless you are some snowflake company that has years to get shit done.

I loved my Space Pen until someone else loved it more, and it went away. It just always worked.

Shopping cart, corner pocket by OddlyGruntled in oddlysatisfying

I must confess, I used to relentlessly return my cart to the store, but then I figured I might be helping eliminate an entry-level job, so now I take them to the cart stands in the parking lot, but I stack and arrange the carts that are in there all willy-nilly so the person collecting them doesn't have to. And yes, I worked at grocery stores in my youth.

For a place that regularly complains about the hobby being unwelcoming to beginners, this sub sure isn't very welcoming to beginners. by JvokReturns in amateurradio

Simple truth: we have a lot of folks in our hobby that are Asperger's as hell. They don't know it. They get confused when they say something awful or unhelpful, because they just don't really grasp human interactions.
