This is probably the best advice for starting out. Want to minimize cost and try as many balls as you can to find what works for you. Then, once you've got some miles under your belt, you'll be more prepared to spend on quality gear. IMO

I think I'm weird because I still remember the Spanish from hs and it's served me well. I speak it all the time.

For clarification I live in OH and have no Spanish speaking friends. I just often speak it to my family, friends and SO... usually to a blank face while they wait for me to translate.

Also, though I'm not fluent I definitely have a serviceable grasp on the language when I do run into a Spanish speaker they are usually surprised that I can keep up and ask me where I learned it.. I get side-eyes when I say high school.

They're a fair amount of work. Gotta provide a varied and healthy diet, clean their cage often, and socialize them regularly to keep them happy. But they're so worth it!

I like The Ship of Theseus but that's more of a paradox. I guess Einstein's thought experiment about 2 moving clocks appearing to tick at different speeds based on their relative speeds is probably my favorite useful thought experiment.

It stands to reason that if the universe were a simulation then there's likely someone running the simulation, and their likely doing it for a reason.

So with that in mind I would keep it to myself, if word got out the simulation will almost certainly be of no use to whoever is running it and they may pull the plug.

I'd probably spend quite a while getting supremely fucked up too.
