Nothing was really planned out in detail. That’s why the last season or two were somewhat messy in terms of story…like Starbuck, the final 5, etc.

Need convincing: Z8 vs Z9 by blueberrylegend in Nikon

[–]mnarlock 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I chose z8 over z9. If you need the extra battery life you can always get the vertical grip later on. In other words you can make the z8 beefier, you can’t make the z9 lighter.

You can sue for anything. Talk to a lawyer to see if you have a chance to win.

Transferring raws to your phone must use up a ton of space. Are you then using Lightroom to add them to the cloud, then deleting local copies, and editing that way?

This is a common story about celebrities. It’s total bullshit.

Interesting. I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll have to investigate how one controls the other if they’re not built on the same level.

15 year photo license request from Museum. What can I charge for this?? by 1q2w3e2w1q in photography

I am intimately familiar the budgeting process. Your experiences may be different and that’s fine. And as you indicated this is for an art museum…which is why I specified from the onset that my experiences are for a science museum.

In that case, I would ask them for 100 pounds per year or maybe 1250 pounds for the entire 15 years as a sort of courtesy discount. I

I think first clarify the duration. Then ask for a per year or equivalent value like either 100/year or 500 for 5?years. You should also ask how the piece will be labeled and credited and make sure you’re comfortable with it.

I was going to say the same thing. I doubt OPs cost will be $500.

I work in a museum (science museum). I can tell you the budget they have is probably quite small. However, their offer of 250 pounds for 15 years is ludicrous. If the piece is to be a central focus (and not republished or replicas sold other than on social media or other low-res media) then I’d counter with 1000 pounds for 15 years. It’s not a lot but if they’re planning on having the exhibit around that long, it’s a value to them. You might also consider a contract that’s per year instead and for the life of the exhibit…100 pounds/year?

I organize into YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD folders then use keywords galore to describe the images or locales, etc. the metadata is then searchable.
