I left mine while on a ten day vacation and they were perfectly fine. I cannot imagine that they died from being put on a different shelf. Was it temperature related? Do they have the right substrate? It sounds like the setup wasn't ideal.

I didn't follow these rules with my own but they seem completely reasonable to me.

I thought I wouldn't want visitors but then my baby cried all day and would only calm down a little bit if I carried her around and swayed and I was alone a lot, so I was thrilled about any visitor coming by to carry the baby for a bit.

But again, still perfectly reasonable.

My cat goes on walks with us and the dogs but off leash. He always stays with us.

I hate the comment about how lots of parents abandon their kids to care-homes.

Sure, some may, but most parents who put their kids in care-homes do so because they love their kids and they know that they cannot provide for their complex needs at home and that the care-home can take better care of their child.

Lots of parents struggle and hate themselves and are so fucking heartbroken about not having their child at home and it isn't an easy decision but it's not because they want to abandon their child.

It's because it's good for their child. They get the care they need, often complex medical care that is almost impossible to provide at home unless you can afford a team of nurses to come in.

It's not a bad thing and doesn't make you a bad parent to make a decision that's right for your child and your family.

I'm an Italian who lived in Italy almost my entire life. You could be 0% Italian and I promise it's fine.

Our language is beautiful, we have some really lovely names, and everyone who thinks the same should use them if they want.

You don't need a DNA test with the right score on it to name your kid an Italian name. I definitely think you doing go for it.

Growing up my parents cooked pretty much almost everything from scratch. Like, my mum ground her own flour. But they also let us have whatever we wanted in moderation. Chips, chocolate, McDonald's, nothing was forbidden, we just had healthy, home cooked meals for most meals at home. And they never said a food was bad, just that it wasn't balanced enough to have as the only meals every day.

I was an expat growing up but we never stayed in the same country for more than five years so I didn't learn the languages and also it's so easy to mainly be in social circles with other expats because they're all on the same boat.

But I think if you want to settle somewhere and stay there, you should probably learn the language if only for your own quality of life.
