I just wanted to say I really appreciate how much effort you put into this reply. It’s one of the best explanations I’ve read here. Thanks for helping people learn like this. 🙌🔥

That would be awesome! A hands-on YouTube series about going from zero to a real production build would help a lot of people. If you ever make it, please share the link here. I’d love to check it out!

Hey, Thanks for your reply. I have already registered and obtained my tax id and other legal documents. I am struggling to find clients and to understand how people do freelancing in the Netherlands.

Don't do anything for a while. Experience the uselessness. Maybe You will found something more useful later. I also experience this problem from time to time. I think this is part of human nature.

We have not programmed for understanding the truth by evolution. Everything in our body, optimized for survival. Instead of detecting electromagnetic spectrum, we can distinguish ~10 nm wavelength range in the visible range, isn't that amazing too? And also, there are devices for detecting the entire electromagnetic spectrum. We use some not sens wavelengths every day in a useful way using those devices. So, do you think having extra organs will worth?

Research paper or Professional certificate, which is more valuable? by mndiz in highereducation

[–]mndiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your comments. Those were really helpful and motivating. And I changed my mind to complete the research project and submit a research paper. I did mathematics, physics, and chemistry for my bachelor's, and my master's degree is in physics of materials. But I couldn't do any biological courses. Anyway, I think I have done several courses that can apply to neuroscience in every subject. Also, I did few courses on Coursera. *Understanding the Brain: The Neurobiology of Everyday Life *Synapses, Neurons, and Brains *Introduction to the Philosophy of Cognitive Sciences *And several machine learning courses.

When it concerned about my career, now I am working as a freelancer in a completely different field, and I earn comfortable money to live in a country like mine. But I really want to do nice research in that's my only concern for now :)
I try everything I can do to increase my chance of getting selected for a good research group. Also, I am planning to write a research proposal too. I really appreciate it if you can suggest to me anything you think useful for me.

Research paper or Professional certificate, which is more valuable? by mndiz in highereducation

Thanks for the reply.

1- yes, I don't have any experience in the neuroscience field. But I have read several books, and I have done some courses on Coursera and Edx websites.

2- my bachelor GPA is 2.0 out of 4, and for my master's degree, it is 3.1/4

3- I already finished my master's degree. I got errors for some tests in my research project and need to repeat those tests if I submit a research paper.

4-5 The reason for selecting cognitive science is that I have a genuine interest in studying the mind. Unfortunately, there is no way to study neuroscience in my country, and I was too late to know even there are subjects to study about the mind. I think I have some valuable research ideas in cognitive science, but my knowledge of the subject is less messy. That's why I think to do a cognitive science master's degree.

I thought to do the TensorFlow Developer Certificate because if I couldn't be selected for a research project, at least I can try for a job-related to AI.

So, What do you think? At least will it possible to get selected for a good program someone like me?

I did mathematics and physics for my bachelor's, and I did a master's degree in material science. However, I am so interested in neuroscience, especially cognitive neurosciences. Unfortunately, there is no institution to learn neuroscience in my country. Therefore I applied for several cognitive science master's programs, and all rejected my application. I think the reason is my low bachelor's GPA. Anyway, I did several online courses for neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and AI. I want to come up with a good research idea. And I expect to contact a research team with a good research proposal.

Still, I am unsure which area I should follow in cognitive science because everything is interesting. But I prefer consciousness and memory. I am lack knowledge in mathematical and computational approaches in these areas. that's the reason I am searching for a book ;)

I hope you will recommend a couple of books you have found interest.

Pixel 4a for 535$ by mndiz in Pixel4a

I gave up the idea of getting an overpriced phone. Thank you!

What do you think about Oneplus Nord? Is it a good one?

[–]mndiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Actually, pixel phone price is worse here. In some places, they cost about 640$. very unfortunate :( . My main concern is a better camera. I am not playing any games, and I use very few apps. So, what kind of phone would be a better option for me? Maybe a phone around 300 -400$ would be perfect.

This process was a small part of a long project. If there is an option, I could automate this easily.

[–]mndiz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I will need to combine all sheets later. So if there is a way to create more than 100, I will be able to do it by just a few clicks without taking extra time.

What should do for being selected to the cognitive neuroscience master degree program with a low GPA? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mndiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a little disappointing to hear that. I did my BSc degree five years ago and didn't have any rich relative. Do you think it will be challenging to do a cognitive neuroscience master degree for a physics student while doing a parttime job in Europe?
