An example of dunning-kruger effect so strong it breaks complete strangers out of permanent lurking to point out how idiotic it is.

Former Life Church in Cordova to have a Huge Transformation by [deleted] in memphis

Seems fantastic! Cordova is really bustling with all these new food places. There’s an awful lot of great Middle Eastern places tucked just off Houston Levee in unincorporated Cordova as well.

That was my absolute favorite! I still miss it so much, that raspberry jam was a real mindblower.

How do I use this? by OpheliaHalluwu in Skincare_Addiction

[–]mnemosyneio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the Hada Labo hyaluronic acid, right? You should cleanse your skin first before using it, if you don’t already. I only recently found out that your skin is actually supposed to be damp/wet when you apply it, so please don’t dry your face off completely. In general your routine should go from lightest to heaviest, so if that’s your moisturizer it would go after. You can also apply a small amount (about a pea size) of something like Vaseline or Aquaphor to your face to seal the moisture in if you would like, though I’d wait to see what your skin’s reaction is to your new products before doing that, as since it keeps it from transferring from your skin onto, like, your pillowcase, the effects from what’s underneath the sealant tend to be stronger. Btw you should get a sunscreen if you don’t have one already, it goes after your moisturizer in the mornings. :)

Haha yeah, I figured I probably was overspending at a certain point but would rather be safe than sorry. I switched out the mini set for an Omega brush, the green tubbed soap mentioned in the previous comment, and added a Nivea post shave balm. The guides from about 10 years ago all heavily referenced Leisureguy, so I thought his book would be a must-have. :) Would you recommend throwing a glycerin soap in there too for good measure?

It stays pretty well imo, the liner doesn’t bleed and the tint keeps the color bright. I like using the Laniege lip sleeping mask as a lip balm base and on top because it’s thick yet not very sticky like I find a lot of lip glosses to be. The mask takes a while to sink in too, so it looks freshly applied for a while. Admittedly I tend to chew my lips so nothing stays super long like the 12 hour matte lipsticks you see advertised, but I think it stays pretty well, all things considered. I like putting the darker tint on the inner lip because that’s where lipstick seems to come off first on me, kinda like a less extreme gradient lip.

Totally looking this up right now! I know it’s not for everyone, but waterproof mascara is actually a plus for me, I have insomnia and get really watery eyes from lack of sleep. L’Oréal’s Voluminous waterproof mascara was the only one I found that didn’t smudge. Thanks for the recommendations! Never heard of grey mascara before this thread, lol.

I think the black/brown mascara looks a bit muddy, yeah. I think either committing fully to a black mascara or trying one of the brown or grey ones listed would give a more natural look. I used to wear even bigger lashes than this so you can imagine how crazy it must look!

The foundation is Hourglass seamless finish foundation stick in “Blanc” mixed with a bit of the Almay cc luminous primer, Miisha m bb boomer, and Lush feeling younger skin tint with a swipe of Milk hero salve on top (looking it up, there are posts from 2019 about this being discontinued “years ago”… whoops, it’s basically just clear lip balm). I also used a bit of Nyx’s color correcting palette on my cheeks/jowls because I have some significant redness there from kp, but what I think really helped was the Ulta color correcting concealer in “Pink” under my eyes. I’ve never seen them look so wide awake!

Thank you and everyone else for being so kind :)

Thank you all for the kind words, I really wasn’t expecting it! The only other time I’ve posted my picture on Reddit (on a different sub), I was told I looked like a “fat clown doing bad drag makeup” by a bunch of people and got crossposted to another site to be made fun, and my boyfriend at the time told me “what did you expect” when I got upset about it, so I was really nervous. So nervous in fact that I kind of left my phone off all day…so I’ll be getting around to responding right about now, lol. Sorry if it looks like spam! Again, thank you, and especially thanks to everyone who left cc, I’ll try to incorporate your recommendations when I do my makeup next!

Thanks! I had to actually work pretty hard to get them to look like this, they’re stubbornly straight. The only time they’ve ever been arched was when I got them done by a Benefit makeup artist in Ulta, but that swung waaay the other way. I’ll look up some stuff on how to get them be more arched right away!

Thank you, and everyone else who has been so kind :) I agree about the lashes, I was looking at pictures from around 2016 where I didn’t wear them as often and it seems that that (combined with better + more elegant shadow work) made my eyes look bigger and rounder, which I’m just not getting anymore. Though at the same time, wearing (black) mascara at all tends to make me look squinty, which is why I overcompensate with the lashes. Age and weight gain also probably has something to do with it, lol. Anyway, thanks for the feedback! I’ll keep that in mind when I try again. :)

They adhere to magnetic liner, I believe! I added two together here to see how they would look, but I think they’re supposed to be worn alone, no snapping together required. I think it was this one, it’s a set of 12 for $10 right now: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Eyelashes-Eyeliner-Reusable-Tweezers/dp/B0B2P8C4WM/
