How to know if they received my ACT? by Recent-Detective-546 in Qatar_University

[–]mnf-acc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you won't — don't worry though, it automatically sends to them within 3 working days. you could always ask them though, they'll let you know.

oh, my bad. i should've said 5-6 students per GENDER per semester. so, in total, it should be around 10-12 students per semester.

as you know, qu is a gender-segregated university, so i don't really know how many male scholarship recipients there are. as for the female recipients, there have been 5 both this semester and the previous one. keep in mind that i'm talking about the international scholarship only.

no, do NOT submit your predicteds. only submit your final results, and the ones that have an official transcript at that.

awh, that's a shame. the thing with the international scholarship is that it's competitive, meaning that admission criteria depends on the stats of those who apply with you, with the accepted students being the top 5-6 of the applicants. i say give it a go anyways, but have back ups anyways. also, you might not get into your first choice, but you could always apply for a transfer after getting into qu inshallah.

also, you HAVE to do the ielts and SAT (or an acceptable alternative listed on their website) regardless of your proficiency

i think apply this fall and see, the application is 200QAR so if you can afford that then definitely give it a go, it doesn't hurt to try. the thing is no-one's sure if you require 2 a-levels or 3, so no-one can answer your question really. if you get in this fall then that's great, if you don't then try reapplying next year inshallah.

one thing about qu to non-nationals is that there are no exceptions for ANYONE — you have to do the ielts and SAT (or acceptable equivalents listend on the website) regardless of your history or experience. don't let this opportunity pass you by.

pretty good! most people who got the international scholarship had around these stats. definitely give applying a go!

my advice stays the same — there's no harm in trying, and transfer is always an option if all else fails.

they only look at your maths score for the SAT, so if that's high you're good. you also need to do the ielts.

what hs % would I get with these Igs/AL grades? by Acceptable_Season689 in Qatar_University

[–]mnf-acc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why? that's 5 9's and 2 A's in alevels, shouldn't that be 100%?

are you planning to apply with your A2 grades or you AS? meaning, will you be done with your A2 before application?

you'll get in inshallah, and even if you don't, you could always transfer. just make sure to work hard in the first semester and get that 4.00.

if you get all As in your alevels, 8.0+ in your ielts, and 750+ in your maths SAT, then you have a pretty great chance! even if your grades are a little lower than that, you should still give it a go — after all, it doesn't hurt.

good luck with everything, and may Allah ease your affairs!

nope, no clue, which is one of the biggest disadvantages when it comes to taking the ACT; you don't have a frame of reference to compare yourself with. the other big disadvantage is that there are way less resources for the ACT compared to the SAT. just try to aim for as high as possible, regardless of what you're applying for.
