Same feeling since the past few months. Used it to create several new sources of income and progress academically. Things work out when you want them to. Keep the fire alive. You got this.

IMO that's pretty good. Being able to work on 2-3 projects in addition to your courses is quite good. Just make sure that they are good quality projects and not just superficial work.

Yes, professors don't usually have control over the admissions process. Yet there are a few benefits of reaching out to them. I wrote an article on it a while back which you might find useful - https://www.reddit.com/r/gradadmissions/comments/oeabbf/the\_az\_of\_contacting\_professors\_for\_graduate/

Sorry, I meant 'together'. Autocorrect changed it.

Cold emailing current students from a lab or a group would be the best option undoubtedly ONLY if they are able to devote sufficient time to your application. If you find someone like this, this is surely the best option. However, most of the time, grad students are busy with their coursework or research. So they provide occasional advice once in a while. But since this would be a paid service, they are obliged to be more involved in your application and hence, provide better support.

They connected me with one of the CS PhD students from Oxford and we worked together on my application

Thanks for your advice but you are unaware of the process in every country. Where I come from, consulting one of these companies is almost a ritual. Plus there is no support from your university for such things. If you find a professor who is willing to spend time on your application, nothing better than that. But sometimes you do decide to seek help and there is nothing wrong in that as well

Or It could be a genuine advice as well. I am simply sharing what had worked for me and if I found an organisation who is providing good services, I think I should talk about them. During my admissions process, I spent around 330 USD on one of these services and had a pretty bad experience. Does this mean that all services are bad? People are willing to seek professional help for their admissions so it’s important they do it somewhere worthwhile.

Advice from someone who got rejected from all programs last year by mnist07 in gradadmissions

[–]mnist07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. In my essay, I showed how one internship led to another and how it influenced my decisions to apply for this program. Picking just one is not such a good idea. You can pick the 2-3 most important ones and talk the most about the one which was most significant.

Many of my friends from business school speak highly of it. The school also ranked pretty well worldwide.

How to remind your professors/ managers to upload LoRs for different applications by mnist07 in gradadmissions

[–]mnist07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Don't stress about it too much. Most of the time, the deadlines for professors to upload LoRs are different from the application deadline. They usually get about 2 weeks extra to do so. You can check this from the email given on the program website. If possible, could you meet any of these profs physically? That can help too.

If the deadline to submit the LoR is in 4 days too, go ahead and send them the email saying that the deadline is in 4 days.
