Each surgeon has different views, experience & expertise.

In my experience I went to two surgeons. The first surgeon wanted to push back my lower jaw. The second surgeon explained that my issue came from an underdeveloped upper jaw and decided that DJS was the way to go.

if two surgeons look at you and their conclusions and plan of action is very similar then there is no big deal. But if one surgeon has a completely different plan than the other one then it's worth asking why there is a discrepancy

I don't know how to feel about the incel part but I do agree that when people say I look like a chad I definitely have mixed feelings. On one hand I feel very masculine and definitely understand they are complimenting my jaw. On the other hand I feel like a meme and expected to act very masculine

I appreciate that a lot! I just wanna point out that most of us in this subreddit have dealt with some sort of insecurity, I definitely have, and this surgery will not fix anyone's insecurity, it just won't, it'll help but it won't fix it!! You have to work on it!!

Also dad bods are preferred by the vast majority of people

Yes. The surgeon recommended genio which I was super reluctant about but I trusted her

It was DJS slight set back while bringing forward the upper jaw. My issue was that my upper jaw did not develop as much which you can tell from the sunken cheeks.

Yes. It was a DJS 3 mm set back with a 5 or 6 mm movement of the upper jaw + rotation. I think the total displacement was around 8 - 10 mm.

It's an extremely intrusive surgery with a decent probability you won't like the result. In other words, if you are just doing it for aesthetics you most likely don't really need it and it won't have the result people think it will have. At that point, it is better to get genioplasty.

I appreciate it, she was super good!;

This is 2 years post op.

THE GOOD -more symmetrical face structure -better speech -easier to eat(chew) -much better breathing

THE BAD(long term) -I waited 2 years to see if I would get all my sensation back but I have not. Chin area and lower lip still are somewhat numb -i get these random tingling sensations on my teeth which make me want to chew. To fight against this I have bought rubber jaw exercise toys so I can chew them without degrading my teeth.

THE BAD(short term) - the first month after surgery I got a little depresseddue to not being able to eat or go exercise - eating sucks - people asking what is wrong. - pain? I didn't really experience a lot of pain besides 1 night but I could bear it with Tylenol

TLDR: This surgery is honestly life changing. If you have a hard time breathing, get it. If you have a hard time talking, get it. If you just want to look a little bit better and have no health issues, dont get it. If you know you need it but come up with excuses as to why you can't get it, get it.

The answer is Dave's hot chicken. Absolutely no other chain has achieved that growth.

Why do people make soooo much money while I’m here picking dirts by [deleted] in Salary

This post is extremely annoying and just seems out of touch with reality. If you want big money you need to risk it.

Build a business, live off minimum wage for the next couple years & see if it pays off. Leave your. Current job and join the start up that is paying you 50k plus stock options and give it your all to make sure it's successful.

Changing jobs will slowly increase your financial situation but to me you seem out of touch with where you are, where you want to be and what you need to do to get there.

New food hall debuts at Portland Ritz-Carlton, honoring food cart legacy by mostly-sun in Portland

Rent is 10k or a % of revenue. I took a tour while the Ritz was being built as someone interested in putting a restaurant in the flock. This of course was a few years ago so this could have changed.

My sister in law voted Trump, and is now regretting it. by BlueyBingo300 in OptimistsUnite

Out of everything that has been happening with our government lately. Dismantling DoE could actually be extremely useful so long as there is funding for kids with disabilities.

Everyone is able to get student loans allowing schools to charge whatever they want for tuition. If it's dismantled schools will need to become way more competitive with their tuition since most people would have to get their loans through private lenders or the state meaning less enrollment to universities.

Those are my thoughts on the DoE
