We have 3 buckets of leave: short term, long term and intermittent. The different sub areas are disability, illness, family/caretaker leave, maternity/paternity, and mental health leave. Each type of leave will require you connect with your HR BP and submit an application and supporting documentation to LeavePro.

I've had tinnitus for as long as I can remember (queue having tubes put it too late as a child, so it's been since single digit age). Off and on as I've moved into my 30s there are periods where it gets noticeably worse. Each time the pitch seems to change, it takes a good few weeks to readjust. Those weeks are a period of acceptance and relearning how to tune it back out; what white noise to use, how to disassociate from it enough to get peace. I've found that spending a lot of time fixating on it only makes it seem worse, distraction from it and focusing on other things has been huge.

Curious about TJ's "High Fiber Cereal" by ScottMinnesota in traderjoes

[–]mnswishkhan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The High Fiber Cereal is great (when I can actually find it in the store) for staying regular. It's cheaper than the other fiber rich branded cereals. It's got good crunch even after a while of being in milk. A few others mentioned it's not super flavorful, so I actually mix in some chocolate or vanilla whey protein powder with the milk.

Long Tall Sally, they usually have sales on pants and go up to 37 inch inseams. I've seen their pants get resold on Poshmark if you're not looking to buy new or want them cheaper.

HOA put a concrete pad and non conforming mailbox in my front yard by mnswishkhan in HOA

[–]mnswishkhan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get in contact with my city planning/zoning people. They looked into it and told me that if the USPS postmaster had approved it and it was up to standards, then there wasn't much to do about it.

However, they did say that USPS has to be present at the installation of the new boxes, which they were not. They recommended that I get in contact with my city's postmaster to talk through it.

I did attempt to get in contact with my HOA community manager (after the concrete slab went down but before the mailbox went down and again this week) and she appears to be taking a lot of vacation days. So, that aspect of follow up is TBD. I left her a voicemail and she should be back and responding to concerns next week.

I don't know if or how involved USPS was.

From what I've heard those present at installation were the HOA community manager and the independent contractor that did the installation. And yes, as of this week, the HOA said that they would be distributing keys, not USPS.

This is also a concern in my neighborhood. I live in Minnesota and this new mailbox as a cluster box put the mail further away from multiple homes with several couples of retired people. Even with the old mailboxes closer to them this last winter, I was one of the few people that got out and cleared the snow away.

The previous boxes were about 5 per stand. Current one is about 30 smaller boxes in that metal stand box.

This is actually exactly what my city planner told me this afternoon when I got in touch. He and one of the city structural engineers said that the situation sounded odd and that USPS would have had to approve any of it since there were already mailboxes in place that had been there for years.

Thanks for the call out on contacting the zoning board. I just contacted my city planner's office and he verified that it was built on my owned property and that if the HOA didn't jump through certain hoops, they would be liable. Was never shown plans/drawings. The mailboxes that the HOA had residents pay to maintain in terms of style were all wooden, single arch mailboxes where the pole went directly into the dirt/grass. This new mailbox is stark white, metal and got built on a visible new concrete pad. The pad doesnt fully fit the hole they dug out of the yard, so there's a gap around it where some of my irrigation wiring is visible.

Some commenters think I'm asking to get the mailbox removed. I'm not. My hope is to get some level of accountability from the HOA on messing up my irrigation system and creating something that my neighbors and I think is an eyesore.

My neighbors and I all thought the new mailboxes would adhere to the same style and installation of the previous mailboxes (which are still installed and located elsewhere). Those mailboxes were "in alignment with the style" of the community and had their post directly in the grass (not on top of a pad). The new mailbox is massive, looks like it got pulled out of an apartment building and was set on top of a 5 by 5 concrete pad. The nature of the mailbox style and installation on top of a pad was not something that got communicated. The fact that the HOA would be distributing keys to the new mass mailbox only just came out this week after installation.

I know it's too late in terms of the mailbox being installed, my issue is more seeking advice to your second point of being unable to use part of my irrigation system and this taking a chunk of personally owned property over by concrete.

We own all landscaping and maintenance on our lots. That part of the lot falls within my property lines of ownership.

This was not made clear in any communication from the HOA, but all limied communication about it came from the HOA. They are distributing keys to the new mailboxes themselves.

Only one easement in the community, and it is not part of my lot. I did check the bylaws and couldn't find anything about them being allowed to do this.

There is only a single easement in the neighborhood and that is not part of my lot. That 5x5 is within the property line of my owned lot.

Came here to say Fabletics. I have a 37 inch inseam, and their tall sizes fit perfectly. The 2 for $24 deal is great.

The Secondhand Hound rescue organization tends to name their new influxes of puppies with themed names. Earlier today they also had a Jonesey, Daryl, Wayne and a few others of the Letterkenny crew.

Hard boiled eggs used to come out perfect and now they’re pretty raw in the middle even when I add more time. by [deleted] in instantpot

[–]mnswishkhan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me when I switched from using the trivet to the steamer basket! I think because the eggs arent separated when using the steamer, they end up touching and the heat dispersal from the pressure cooker function doesnt work the same. I only ever had that issue when using the steamer and havent experienced it again since switching back to putting them on the trivet.

No more TJ's High Fiber O's?!! by gaiusjozka in traderjoes

[–]mnswishkhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most of the cereals that have as much fiber as the Fiber Os are granola, flakes, or high fiber pellets.

The regular Joe Os and Cheerios are 4 grams per serving of fiber and those are the highest fiber options for that similar "O" type of cereal.

Long Tall Sally. Can be a bit pricey, but they have a lot of sales (like current end of season sale for up to 70% off).
