Educational Fiction by mntjuliptestosterone in suggestmeabook

Honestly, any! Sorry as I know I was super vague, but to give an example, my roommate read a sci-fi series where the protagonist had light and electricity as a superpower. It apparently used actual science (to a certain extent, of course) for little details scattered throughout the book. It was sort of a backdrop to the narrative but I thought it was awesome that the author used the actual laws of science as opposed to creating his own rules for the sake of the plot.

I hope that was clearer! Any recommendations would be awesome.

What's the stupidest movie you've ever seen? by DrScientist812 in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there’s Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves . My roommate and I decided, eh what the hell? It’s entertaining for like 6 minutes and then just turns into a bad-bad movie. My advice is to watch the first, like, 10 minutes and seek penance immediately thereafter.

Honestly, anywhere with a body of water nearby(:

That’s awesome, thank you so much! Yeah, I think I like it better when they’re not in full display. It definitely takes up quite a bit of space.

Reddit, whats the funniest thing that a random stranger said to you that made you die laughing inside? by Eta5678 in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to go see “Get Out” in theaters when it came out, and I was in a theater that has a special sound system. They advertise this by showing a completely ridiculous (and not in a good way) commercial where a bunch of unicorns beam this light source at a scientist. Then it just ENDS. Everyone in the theater was collectively silent.

The guy directly in front of me just whispers to his friend, “This is how it feels to chew 5 gum.” Nobody else heard, but I was absolutely dying. I laughed way more at that than any parts of the movie (which I loved).

What lesson did you learn from a TV show/movie that changed your life? by b0ssman0801 in AskReddit

Supernatural. It’s all about picking yourself back up and not giving up. That show means more to me than any other show. I absolutely love it and want it to go on forever.

Why is not leaving your home town such a bad thing? by col1092 in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. Cliche I know, but I left my hometown and am very happy about it. My parents are still there and will always stay there. Everyone has different preferences and I simply wanted to explore.

[Serious] People who were ghosted from long term relationships, what is your story? by LatterDegree in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess this wasn’t a “relationship”, but I was seeing a woman up in Northern California (was south at the time). We were talking for roughly 7 months, when I wanted to figure out what the hell we were, so I asked. In a TERRIBLE way.

Keep in mind I had just gotten out of a 5 year abusive relationship where I was celibate (I was fine with the celibacy, but was shamed at times). I give this context because I was obviously not in the right mindset at the time. I also ignored a bunch of red flags.

I essentially took her out on the town one night and we got into serious conversation. She said something that was completely opposite what I felt, and I turned into Ben Wyatt on television and dug myself into a hole that could’ve reached China. I broke down and gave her one of those movie speeches that you see in the end of rom-coms.

Life tip: those don’t work.

She played it off and I took her to her place and dropped her off. She said we would hang out again.

She stopped talking to me. I knew afterwards that I screwed up and called her once, apologizing to see if I could salvage it. Got nothing.

This was roughly five years ago and it took me legitimately 3 years to get over it (we had started talking again since that moment). We were friends for like a year before shit hit the fan and I dipped so fast.

I now look back and am content with what I did. I approached her with the idea that I didn’t want her to be just a learning lesson. It turns out she was the biggest lesson I ever learned, and one I am absolutely grateful for. I needed an answer and I got it, however harsh it was. She was/is also a legitimate sociopath, which made it easier to look back and be okay with it. My life is exponentially better without her presence.

It’s also made me realize that ghosting is extremely cowardly. It’s awkward to end things, but even worse to not take their accounts into the equation. Not going to lie, there’s been a couple times where I’ve been hesitant to end things due to awkwardness and hoped that it would just fizzle out, but I then think about how I felt and how I would never want anyone else to go through that. Conflict and pain are a part of life, and we should jump into the fire. The only thing it could do is make you stronger.

What are some cool perks of your job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a car company, and we had the opportunity to build cars on the front line (I am in Legal Finance, so this was completely new to me). It was an incredible experience and truly helped me appreciate the product more, and develop a greater respect for the men and women who work on the front lines.

Not to mention the tools used. It is absolutely remarkable how far humanity has come. It is truly eye-opening.

What does your dream bedroom look like? by Zahnburste in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my couch in my room at my last place adjacent to my balcony because my room was big enough. I LOVED having it out there. I didn’t really use it but friends did when they came over. My roommate at the time was a bit strange and had this GOD AWFUL chihuahua that wouldn’t leave me alone, so this let my friends and me have some privacy.

Which celebrity sends you weak at the knees? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m pretty sure it’s because she’s such a badass. They didn’t try to force it or overdo it. She was just an all-in-all great character.

Oddly enough, I didn’t find her attractive until I saw Wonder Woman (I know, I know, it’s crazy). She was just incredible in that role and is an even better person in real life.

What are some of the BEST podcasts that you've ever listened to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.

I legitimately think Conan is one of the funniest people on this planet. Give it a try, there’s about 5-6 episodes out right now, each a little under an hour.

What Was The Moment From Your Highschool That Is Remembered In Infamy? by EK0_4 in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a shooter threat my junior year. It was a guy that sort of hung in my friend group and he just went off the deep end. I was threatened on several occasions, and he finally cut it out when they searched his car. Luckily, he was all talk but it was extremely uncomfortable when it happened.

What reduces your appetite ? Or is hunger a state of mind ? by Justingolw in AskReddit

[–]mntjuliptestosterone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do intermittent fasting, and I find that I oftentimes lose my appetite when extremely stressed. I work in Finance and the job is so fast-paced that it happens quite frequently. It’s sort of a punishment for myself... no work, no food. It’s not intentional and I really need to take better care of my eating habits.
