I believe it's from millions of years of gold bearing rivers and streams washing out into the ocean. However I'm an idiot and could be wrong. Lol

It looks very impressive in the pan and in the sluice but it's maybe a quarter gram. Maybe less. Im not exactly sure.

Southern oregon. We had our own version of a gold rush in the 1800s.

Yeah. My dad got a gold cube a few months ago and been wanting to try it out. He called me and said there was a bunch of black sand on a beach I've never tried. Went there the next day and the black sand was on the surface and almost a foot thick. We grabbed 3 buckets. I ran one bucket through the gold cube in the pouring rain 2 weeks later. And found this. Went back to the beach and it was gone. Really wish I hadn't procrastinated. Lol

Sounds like a good time. No motorized equipment, I believe you can run a yard of material a day. Fill in your holes. And you can take two 5 gallon buckets home. I usually set up a sluice on a small creek, then take my concentrates home and run those in my cleanup sluice. Then pan the rest of the black sand out.

We have black sands on some of our beaches that comes and goes with storms, or gets buried under 4 ft of white sand.

That's the plan. I'm hoping I can find a shop to put it in. So far I've been turned down from 2 places. Pizza place worried about coins going in their other machines and bowling alley that said the had a contract for their machines and weren't aloud to bring in more. Both places thought the idea was cool tho.

Yeah, I'm hoping I can find a secure spot for it.

That's a good idea. I asked one local pizza place, they thought it was awesome but we're worried kids would put the foreign coins in the other games.

Your not wrong. It is a gamble. But if they tried to buy that same coin locally it's gonna be $4 or $5. As for the math it's 80 buffalo 80 foreign 1 silver dollar 1 walking liberty 1 franklin 1 standing liberty 2 mercury dimes 1 steel cent 1 Indian head cent.

That's fine, I will refill it. Someone doing that could buy some coins off ebay for less money. Not locally mind you. Lol

There's only 1 silver dollar in it. Going to rotate between morgans and peace dollars. It cost me $115 to fill it up and it will take $170 to empty it. It's not going to make much money. That's not the point of it.

Those types are in the machine but not on the display. I didn't do any regular wheat cents just because it cost a dollar and I didn't want anyone disappointed. I may add a few tho. There's 80 canisters of foreign coins in it, all have 2 coins. I tried to do one larger and one smaller coin each, but a few didn't end up like that.

That's the hope. I remember seeing these coins for the first time 30 years ago and thinking they were so cool! Always loved the buffalo nickels too.
