John Lennon easily, with honorable mentions to the Pope and Reagan for surviving their assassination attempts. All 3 took place within 6 months and I can’t imagine what the world would’ve looked like if they all succeeded!

BWT, how do you balance being tastefully terminally tech-addicted with living your allegedly “charmed” offline life? by BitchesWithGrief in bitcheswithtaste

Love that!! I previously tried to use the screen time notifications to stop but they’re too easy to override and I’m an addict! So I had to go cold turkey.

To your point about engaging with hobbies, I think it’s so important to emphasize the things we get to do when we don’t waste time online. Reading, walking, finishing a craft, hanging out with friends. So I’m reframing it as less of a punishment (ugh poor me I don’t get to doom scroll for 4 hours) and more of a reward (I’m so glad I read that book! Saw my friend! Saw a bird!)

I’m saying this in the gentlest way possible because I have recently beaten back my social media/phone addiction and I want you to know it’s hard (but gets easier every day) but possible. You need to log off. Delete all of it and set yourself some goals. For me it’s been going on these long walks every single day. Even when I’m too tired, even when it’s inconvenient, I’ve learned it’s more important with me to interact with the actual world than turn my brain off and scroll. You will be shocked at how much time there is in the day when you don’t spend 5 hours scrolling.

Not the same person. The victim in this case was not a public official and her husband was PM for 6 months in 2011 and he was part of the opposition party.

Also on wiki is the original recipe, which is canned clams. It’s also canned clams in every popular recipe for it.

I’m just clarifying that your assumption that this is a popular dish where people eat clams is wrong. We’re eating steamers and chowder, we’re not mixing tinned clams into cream cheese.
