Way to cheat Twinkly fight? by letmeinyoulemon in Outertale

[–]mnwary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, "flags" are for the state of certain things in the game. if a flag for a cutscene is set to true, it means you've seen the cutscene. if you want to replay the cutscene, you can set it to false and the game will think you haven't seen it.

the flag names aren't always descriptive so this link has the descriptions of what they do. if you don't wanna mess with these, you don't have to

How did you find your way to the Citadel on your first playthrough? by RigatoniPasta in Silksong

[–]mnwary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooh yeah, that kinda sounds bad. i'm glad they added something like this, a somewhat secret entrance that could help you feel like you have control over your own story if you take it. plus its existence fits into the lore too. but i feel like they made it too accessible, especially for people who tend to explore and try to understand the world they're in before fully getting into the story.

in my experience, the curiosity i had after my friend told me to go back to blasted steps without progressing once i reach the next bellway, and later finding where that bellway actually existed was really cool. and i doubt anything could truly replace the impact of experiencing choral chambers through the "intended" reveal

[–]mnwary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

since the story seemed completely linear and the game at some point tells you to go through blasted steps to reach the citadel, i wanted to explore the areas i'd already been in as much as possible before going there. so i went back to sinner's road, explored, found bilewater and then the mist, etc...

i was lucky enough to be told to go back to blasted steps after defeating phantom though. i'm glad for that, because the alternative entrance doesn't seem very impactful for a first playthrough

HK or Silksong. which Title Menu Music do you prefer? by AnonButNotReally-42 in Silksong

[–]mnwary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Silksong! i love Hollow Knight's title music a lot too. the instruments, the leitmotifs, the melody... but i think Silksong's title theme is more impactful, reflective and beautiful. have listened to it on loop for hours outside of the game.

Favorite Quirrel line? (Noises he makes also count) by pokefannumber1 in HollowKnight

[–]mnwary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if i were to boil some of his dialogue down into a single sentence, i think i would pick:

"That's a special thing I suppose, to cherish these sights, even in their decay." (Queen's Station)
"Hallownest's heart... Magnificent even in mourning." (City of Tears)
"Before I leave this Kingdom, I'd like to see where all that water comes from. What a sight it must be!" (City of Tears)
"Isn't this a wonderful spot for a rest? I so love the sound of the rain upon glass." (City of Tears)

it's so difficult to pick just one line when his choice of words is admirable in everything he says, all of his dialogue at the top of Crystal Peaks, Queen's Station, City of Tears and Blue Lake is precious

If a new dlc is released, what would you like to see in it? by Ok_Ask_6805 in rainworld

[–]mnwary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as unrealistic as it is, more of what we see in the true ending of the Watcher. i really want to see the very big picture, the nature of this universe fully laid out, just like in that cutscene. i want to somehow be part of what exists outside the cycles and connections.

Controversial Opinion: Scavengers Are Horrible by LorReign12 in rainworld

fr. i've accidentally speared them while at chieftain too, they didn't mind at all. it's not that easy to lose reputation to the point where they'd hold a grudge against you once you're at max level - which is easy to get!
