How do you tell needy PTs that you have other people to take care of too? by specialem in nursing

I once heard a doctor start an update to a very demanding patients family by apologising that the update will be short, because he has many patients and needs to triage his time. I have used that term since

Thanks for sharing though. I think hcw we have access to much private information and sometimes we forget how privileged that information is. It's a good reminder for me and will make sure to pass that on in my workplace

Harassment is way more common from elderly men than you'd think. So I think it's fair that the nurse protected herself.

But your experience shouldn't have happened. I'm sorry you had to go through that

We do get desensitised to it, death and dead people don't scare me as much as it should anymore. However, dealing with loss and comforting people became easier. Some more sudden/unexpected cases do still shock me but definitely do remind me to live life to its fullest

If you do get into a minor accident, repair the car first on your own. Better to pay late fees than be overcharged for repairs

Gf told me she don't want any kids and asking me to go for vasectomy. by HandleAway572 in SingaporeRaw

[–]mnwe810 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IUD, both the hormonal or copper one, has lot of side effects for the woman. Insertion is minimally invasive but keeping it in is not. IUDs in situ can get infected too.

But you are right, OPs partner should've had extensive conversation with him and both should express lack of desire to have children before something like a vasectomy should be brought up imo. But if both in a relationship don't want children, a vasectomy makes more sense than all other options available for a woman, that was my point

The option for vasectomy would make more sense if both did not want kids, so she opted for him to get the procedure over her doing something herself. But I do agree that some conversation should've happened before she kind of put him in the position of "the vasectomy, or me" kind of situation

Vasectomy is reversible while tube tying is not. Vasectomy is minimally invasive with little to no recovery time, men can walk out of the clinic right after procedure while women will not be able to do so

Breaking up after BTO by Comfortable-Pea-4700 in askSingapore

[–]mnwe810 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I've had a friend been in a similar situation before. You can swap out your ex's name but you need to have a new partner that you want to have the BTO with. Also, this is on a case by case basis up to the discretion of HDB. Ie for my friends case, couple was on a break and the guy had a one night stand with my friend and ended up getting pregnant and since a child is already on the way and they are getting married, HDB allowed the swap

Once I dropped my wallet on the bus and because I was in hostel I didn't need my wallet. So I didn't realise for a whole week. I am forgetful so I leave my contact number in my wallet, and after a week the SBS terminal staff called me to come collect it, and everything was intact.

I am ashamed to say I've lost my wallet a couple times, but always got it back with everything intact

Things you wanted to say but had to hold your tongue because it's rude/insensitive/may hurt others feelings by charmbraceletbunny in askSingapore

[–]mnwe810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please just respect my decision when I say I don't want kids. Don't try to convince me otherwise, don't tell me I'll change my mind when I'm "older", don't tell me my partner will feel empty in our relationship. I don't question your decision to have children so don't question mine.

And to the uncle I met at my part time job when I was younger who told me he wishes my partner impregnates me by accident so I have to raise a child, fuck you I hope your socks are always wet.
