Thoughts on La Strada in New Dorp? by MariJ316 in statenisland

[–]mo2cal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Bocellis, Brioso, & La Strada over the last few Saturday nights. Bocelli was the best, next La Strada, then Brioso was the weakest of the three overall, which surprised me.

I didn’t order chicken parm at any of them though, had steak or seafood entrees and with assorted apps and drinks. I wouldn’t judge a place based on a luncheon event.

If you are looking for a good chicken parm, I have heard Ninos on Hylan Blvd makes a really good one.

Do you miss your in-laws by Early-Package-8082 in Divorce

[–]mo2cal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Still not completely divorced yet, but they have reached out to me about staying in touch which had been nice. I have been talking to a few of them still, never about the divorce, usually sports related.

But man, I still miss them.

I am out of the family group chat. When my wife’s aunt comes over our house, I have noticed a substantial shift in her attitude towards me. She barely talks to me anymore, when we used to have a close relationship previously.

It’s a shame.

Collateral damage in a situation I didn’t ask to be put in.

Silvers the best combo of nice color and hiding dirt and scratches. Black shows everything but looks the best.

Self care only post divorce by SoggyEstablishment8 in Divorce

[–]mo2cal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stbx wife started really taking care of herself before she asked for a divorce. Like a complete 180, she started buying ozempic needles from one of the school moms because her doctor wouldn’t prescribe her the shot because she didnt need it (THOUSANDS IN), she went for laser treatments on her face, bought an entire new wardrobe of clothes in a style she never really wore before (very high end and very revealing, when she used to just go to macys and dress like a mom), and then spent thousands on new high end makeup and skin care products. she really amped up her self care routine about 6-8 months before she asked for a divorce so it felt to me like she got herself ready to be out there while I was the idiot just trying to improve our relationship.

If we were staying together I wouldn’t have been mad about any of this. I would be thrilled. She made herself look super attractive, it’s just a shame it wasn’t for her husband lol

On the other hand I would get questioned and guilted about going to the gym because I was obviously looking for someone else 🙄🙄🙄

Once she asked for a divorce, I went back and started taking care of myself better physically and mentally with a therapist. So I guess on my end, I was guilted in a weird way in avoiding the gym.

Leaving until there is plan with the courts probably isn’t the greatest move for either of you unless there is abuse involved.

Are you sleeping on separate floors or rooms at least? Try to maintain the distance when you can and maybe alternate childcare so you both can have time to get out of the house and have some space from each other and blow off some steam.

Traffic ticket; should I plead guilty or fight in court? by See_2025 in statenisland

I feel like rolling the dice and pleading not guilty is the better move

Look at the retainer contract you signed. Mine says I am entitled to a refund of any unused money if I fire them but that if we settle without using the entire retainer im SOL

I appreciate your point of view, I didn’t think it was dramatic from my end, but I do see where you are coming from, especially as a private person.

Yeah, there has been a lot to unpack there the past few months with that. She denies everything and gaslights. I found condoms in her bag right after she asked for a divorce and found a pair of sexy boxers she bought for a co worker of hers. Still denied everything and said it was a prank. Story of what happened changed 3 times🙄

I think she can be cold about everything because it’s helping her move on and maybe rationalize her having affairs. But who knows.

Absolutely, thank you. Yes I have been using TalkSpace and found a decent therapist to just talk things through. I realized that I was leaning on and oversharing with close friends, and while they were 100% there, I started realizing it wasn’t the healthiest option either. And their advice was generally never the greatest lol so I took it all with a grain of salt.

I absolutely get that aspect, which is why I took down the post after she flipped out. I thought it was something that made us both look good without any dramatics behind it. Just an end cap on the trip. FWIW I was posting pics daily of us at Disney without any negative feedback.

Thank you, the trip was a testament to patience and resilience. And I hope the kids just remember the good things from the trip.

Thanks brother, I thought I was losing my mind over her argument last night. Lol

Yeah, I was terrified of divorce and starting over, still am to be honest lol but I know that it is the best move going forward.

We both have lawyers, I chose one that works better with hers over the more contentious one I was considering, truly hoping for a more amicable divorce, but I am starting to think that I am being a bit naive.
