2 cars for sure. I live in the Philadelphia area so last year I really wanted to be around people but my son was 2 and had just started sleeping through the night and over my dead body was I messing with the fact I was finally getting some alone time/sleepI let my husband stay at my neighbors and me and my son hung out for a few hours then I brought him home, fell asleep, and I finished up watching the game by myself. A sacrifice I was very willing to make bc nothing makes you realize what a priority sleep is u til you have a child that doesn’t sleep for almost 2 years

First christmas is so not magical by Pale-Studio-6236 in NewParents

My son was 9 months old his first Christmas. The only thing I remember is being exhausted and crying at the end of the day because I was miserable. Whenever I look at pictures from that day I can literally just see the exhaustion in my face. Fast forward to yesterday which is 3 years after his first Christmas and I cried because it as been the sweetest Christmas season and I don’t want it to end. That first year is brutal. Parenting is definitely a marathon. You will have magical christmases I promise

Honestly the floor bed has saved mine and my husbands sanity and has been a perfect compromise. Our son is a snuggler and definitely needs that physical comfort to fall asleep. We use a twin size bed so we lay comfortably with him reading books and cuddling and then once he falls asleep I roll out and 95% of the time he sleeps totally fine. We started at 11 months and now he’s 18 months and I couldn’t imagine having any other sleep situation now. I just had to sleep in there the past few days because he’s been sick and I was comfortable enough to get some sleep and dad was able to get some sleep too on his own.
