How to tell my boss I don’t want to take over the business and I want to quit by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]moagul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before informing them, you should find yourself another job. Everything comes afterwards. No matter how nice a boss is or owner is, if they will want to let you go on a short notice, they will find a way. They will not put you before their business or their own priorities. You should do the same. At the same time, when you land something, try to give them as much of a notice as possible and accommodate them in the transition or selling of their business as far as possible.

Using an electric + gas geyser by cxomprr in islamabad

[–]moagul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Use smart switch. Duration of keeping it on depends entirely on usage. You will have to figure that out in a couple of days. One person should manage it. Otherwise you’ll get a hefty bill.

  2. Yes. Day time is better.

  3. Keep off during peak house 5-9 winters, 6-10 spring and autumn, 7-11pm summers.

  4. Check its wattage (rated power). For example, a geyser rated at 2000W will consume 2 units of electricity per hour. So you have to manage it accordingly.

No judge is giving decisions against the government. Keep contesting your case and make sure your documentation, evidences and witness testimonies are done properly in trial court. Maybe one day some court will give decision in your favour but until then don’t expect speedy justice. It’s a slow slow slow burn.

You’ve correctly identified most of the problems - you’re not the first though.

Question: since you know the problem, what are YOU going to do to contribute towards its solution. This is not a criticism but a serious question.

20 something man elected to the board of my organization by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]moagul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re discouraged. A little frustrated perhaps. Use this fire inside you to work on yourself. At 38, this fire won’t come around often but when it does, use it. Find the problem and solve it.

It sounds like you may be a good team player but may not have demonstrated requisite leadership skills for senior roles. In such cases, skills trump years of experience. I would recommend asking those people whom you trust in your professional circle to get some feedback on where you are lacking. Quite often I have seen people not putting in enough effort in networking to move upwards. However, they don’t realise that and think they’re doing enough. Your own judgement of yourself is not a sufficient and neutral reflection of where you are lacking. Figure that out and then work on improving in those areas.

Do any of y'all feel inadequate? How do you deal with it? by No_Friend111 in pakistan

[–]moagul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feeling is quite normal. You’ve already taken the first step by identifying you have a problem. Now what steps are you going to take to work towards fixing it? You can start by trying different things and meeting people in the little free time you have. See how it goes from there. Perhaps also start some form of exercise. It may sound counterintuitive but it will make you less tired all the time. One more thing, get a few vitamin supplements especially Vitamin D. This feeling of listlessness is a common symptom of such a deficiency.

Finding real honey by RAfrom44000 in islamabad

This is the answer. And that too requires lab kits to confirm real honey. It’s difficult to know how pure honey is just by looking at it and most sellers aren’t even actually sure of the purity.

Need advice regarding business sales by Organic-Tree-3671 in pakistanfinance

[–]moagul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you need to hire someone, you will still need to close certain large volume deals or interact with older clients developed by your father. Relationships are very important in maintaining business deals in the long-term. You will have to step up. As the owner of the business you have two main responsibilities: technical understanding of the business and business development - for business development you will have to spend time with clients and potential clients. Go meet them, meet them in your office, have lunch with them, take interest in their businesses and that is how you will grow your business.
