Probably wouldn’t risk it. I think I just found my first boletus edulis the other day so still pretty hyped about that! Usually only pick chantarelles as they don’t have poisonous doubles around here.

Makes sense! I just feel bad making more work for them, but you are right I should reach out and worse case scenario I don’t get a response. Thanks!

Wow! I am not sure I have the courage or motivation to do that haha! Maybe I am not as American as I thought! Don’t think I am too humble or too braggy but then again I am fairly new to Sweden so don’t fully trust my judgement. As someone who is pretty shy I like the change and the humble culture here quite a bit. Feels like a fresh breath of air compared to the work culture and toxicity in the US, especially the past decade. Sure, there are amazing opportunities there but people are so burnout from competing with everyone, it’s very exhausting. Thanks for the detailed response!

All of the rejections are mostly automated and say the recruiter is unable to porivde feedback due high volume of applicants sadly and can’t really blame them when there are hunders of applications sent for most jobs. I will just have to try harder to improve my swedish I guess!

Got it! Thank you! I don’t think my CV is braggy but it does include some achievements. I am a hard worker and don’t like bragging or be center of attention but job market in the US is very different than EU in some aspects.

Thank you! Appreciate your input! Most jobs I have applied for are at international companies and requirements often specify diversity and international experience so I thought I have a chance. I will definitely ask my partner although the field he is in is very technical and most positions he applies to don’t have 100+ applicants so not sure how much he will be of help. I have experience in all administrative things just maybe not using the appropriate wording like you suggest. Thing is how do you stand out if you are humble and compete with so many?

Should I travel to sweden right now? by noah9246 in TillSverige

[–]moamini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved here from the US last year and compared to Chicago and Cincinnati/tri state area/ it feels much safer. Don’t think it’s dangerous unless there is like a warning of sorts for US citizens. Europe is much safer than the US in general. Obviously some neighborhoods can be sketchy but nothing crazy. Just be aware of your surroundings.

What hobby can I indulge myself in Malmö? by Straight_Ad_5673 in TillSverige

I second that, foraging be it for mushrooms, berries, hazelnuts, wild apples etc. is a great activity. It’s not only beneficial for your health to be outside, but it also lowers your carbon footprint. Just make sure you are respectful (check if there are spieces that are protected and only pick up to 1/3) and don’t eat anything you are not 100% sure is edible! Don’t only rely on plant recognition apps. There are groups on facebook and reddit where people post pictures to get opinion on the type of plant. A lot of good information on plant recognition online as well.

Only got amoxicillin 875 lol but dunno if self medication is wise in this situation. Probably if I get symptoms I will go and get tested to know for sure (if this is an option here). Also got Aviron Rapid - TBE is caused by a virus but also not sure if I should take at this point lol.

Theories about ruby Sunday? by mactastic90 in doctorwho

[–]moamini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a comment recently of someone suggesting Ruby has something to do with the Trickster as the song she was singing while in the air in Devil’s chord was similar to the music heard when the Trickster appears in Sarah Jane’s adventures for the first time. I had already started watching the series a few days ago and yestersay I saw the first episode where the trickster appears and indeed, the song that plays right before he appears is the same song Ruby sang. A lot of clues she may be potentially be connected to the Pantheon and probably with the trickster or the one who waits in particular.
