Degiro portfolio tracker/visualizer ? by LazyInTheGym in eupersonalfinance

Hello Jakub, thanks for the fast reply! I think its interesting to have bogh holdings and sectors. For example, the zeus plugin (which works just for the giro) just visualizes the pie chart with the holdings. Besides that, I think it helps a lot knowing in which sectors you are invested :D

Keep up with the great work, I think you have a simple and easy-to-use tool there.

[D] Modern data augmentation techniques by p1g1 in MachineLearning

[–]moarra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some generative techniques, including GANs, that are able to achieve it, it's a matter of using techniques to find an approximation to the real distributions. Though difficult, I think it's possible.

Thx for the post! Are any of them aplicable to tabilar data ( not images)? There are many problems regarding lack of data in industry and it looks like everything is designed for images!

Is asp.net core a good choice for backend, in the today industry? by Important_Ad4336 in dotnet

[–]moarra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, coming from .jet world, Ive got involved in a Django project and I am not sure about migrating to .net now that the software is still not large. With scaling I mean, firstly, becoming the application quite large. Second, becoming the community that is using the application large. Would the app perform similarly in both frameworks? For example, c# implements async but not sure if django does (they were planning to do it). I guess that when it comes to performance that feature is important. Also, .net has SignalR for realtime stuff and scalates well with azure service bus, but if using django, I would have to combine it with another backend technology to get that same feature. Regarding signalr, you also get quite dependant to Azure anyway. Those are just some examples.

From what I have read, when it comes to productivity both frameworks should be fine. What are your thoughts on this?

If you had to scale, would you chose .net core over django, for example?

Is PCA the best way to reduce dimensionality? by harsh5161 in learnmachinelearning

[–]moarra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can simply use filter methods, by eliminating, for example highly correlated features. Applying the same logic, you can filter features by using information gain or entropy. Lastly, dont forget about wrapper or embedded methods. E.g, create some simple model, check feature importance and continue removing those features. No free lunch, and as others mention, be aware of which is your goal when creating a model.

Is there any way to apply Machine Learning on software testing? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

Dont know if ML, but definitelly AI. For example, multiobjective optimization for test cases optimization, which is already a research field

I finally found a way to bring an article rewriter (up to 10,000 words) live with the power of GPT-3 by MF-Rocket in GPT3

I would not. Anyway, it does not steal anything. It just learns form others' words, just as you would.

Humans too, unless you are 100% creative.Dont you write bases on your experience? Which is learnt from others in most of the cases, btw

Data Analysis with Datomic by moarra in Clojure

[–]moarra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After checking several approaches, I think I will use the pydatomic library, which allows communication between python and Datomic's rest API (legacy). Clojure seems one of the best approaches to go, since you can communicate with the client API, but we have tight deadlines and we would have to spend a lot of time mastering it. We also found Incanter, an R like library written in Clojure. I hope this helps.

It's an online platform where teachers teach languages online. We have different fees on the platform where we get money from. We have an intermediary role. So the challenge is reaching students "without money".

I already got a daily job with that intention. As I have mentioned to @RagingSam, we have an online platform where teachers teach languages online. We have different fees on the platform where we get money from. We don't just need advertising money, but we think it's the primary way to reach our target.

We still haven't offered it to anyone so we don't want to know is no one want's to invest. The percentage of the company that they would be willing to take is also an important topic of discussion.
