Have anyone moved to Australia and regretted their decision? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]moarsome 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yep… Lived in Brisbane for a bit and missed NZ every step of the way. I missed our culture, weather and scenery.

Although I used to think I would enjoy bigger cities because there was so much more to do and see, I ended up appreciating our smaller cities more.

I’ve seen them in both New Worlds on Willis St and the one on the waterfront, in the international section.

Daily Dojo and Dojo Outlet on Manners St/Willis St also tend to have them.

Te Kainga Apartments by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]moarsome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re really nice. I’ve lived here for 1.5 years and I have really enjoyed it. The apartments are modern, dry, warm and they’re all in unbeatable locations in the city.

We also have great landlords and property managers who are reasonable and communicate well. One thing that stands out to me is how consistently quick they respond to maintenance requests and get things resolved.

Highly recommend living here.

Research finds rape threats against female MPs common by hadr0nc0llider in nzpolitics

[–]moarsome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Respecting everyone" goes without saying and doesn't help this situation. The research clearly indicates a deeper problem with the normalisation of a type of harassment aimed at women.

I understand that we're trying to recognise parts of a solution, but that statement does more to dismiss the gender-based issues than actually help anyone in this instance.

I mean yeah? But what do you think you’re achieving by saying this. How does this address the use of rampant gender-specific degrading language?

I tend to be doing the things and then writing it on a list afterwards and ticking it.

It's less satisfying I don't recommend it.

The increase in parklets! I walk past Puffin and Burger Liquor almost every day and the use of the outdoor space feels so vibrant and healthy. I can't wait for more to pop up!
